Something else that's upset the Muslims.

Do they sell dog food with dogs pictured on the labels, in their shops?

Do they allow blind person's guide dogs into their shops?

I've just thought if dogs upset them so much, why dont the M.O.D. send a few packs over to Iraq and Afghanistan to hunt down Al-Queda and the Taliban? Better sport than fox hunting.

Well actually reading down it has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.

Of course when the mail headline's written that becomes Sparked Outrage

These Mail stories are depressingly predictable

But thanks for keeping us abreast of them
More sensationalism from the Mail, the local press report it a little differently.

How can anyone find a picture of a dog offensive?

I can't imagine - let's change the dog for a piglet and see if that's offensive :c)
what a total load of bull***te......no doubt they will be on the streets soon banging their heads with their hands proclaiming death to all black labradors.....it doesnt take much to get them going does it?
"it doesnt take much to get them going does it?"

Are you talking about Muslims or the Mail?
Hmmm, apparently its because of the way the dog was looking. It was a female dog and it was looking very dominant, which is forbidden...

A femail dog, where's it's burka? WTF have they got against dogs anyway?
So how come the Mail missed this quote (from Eric Cartman's link):

Last night Mahmud Sarwar, trustee of the Scottish Islamic and Cultural Centre and the Dura Street mosque, appealed for calm.

He said he had no problems with the postcard and called on homeowners and local businesses to display them as it is in the public interest.

Ive not heard anything about that from members of the community, Mr Sarwar said.

I was round some shops today and at the mosque and nobody has said anything about it.
quinlad, both really.........oneyevic do you not get sick and tired of muslim leaders ''appealing for calm''......i do......
Hmmm, apparently I hear the new scooby doo film has been put on hold whilst this situation is resolved...
pmsl mrbens i heard the muslims were protesting about shaggy's beard as well.............................
When will the Mail stop trawling through local rags (Dundee Courier circ. 14,000), for stories that even the local paper themselves can't quite bring themselves to sensationalize?

This story would have been much better written as bullet points.
Police create doggy postcards
Gobby councillor tries to make a name for himself
Some people get confused, 99% don't care.

Seems Councillor Asif is a bit of a trouble maker who is happy to see public funds wasted, but at least Mr Sawar and the majority of the Muslim population have been sensible enough to see it for what it is. In view of the lack of reaction his complaint received, its no surpise the Councillor wasnt available for comment.

Jake, bearing in mind this was something issued by the police, I doubt very much theyd have used a picture of a pig. :o)

However, if they had, it would still only have been a picture, and we cant ban all pictures of pigs for fear of causing offence. Muslim newsagents must come across pictures of pigs and dogs in various publications all the time, but we never hear them complaining, and it was noted in the link that Muslim shop owners are happy to sell dog food. One Muslim owned shop I know sells sausages and other pork products too, and all credit to them for being sensible enough to sell what their customers want to buy.

Im only surprised that this complaint was instigated by a Muslim rather than the usual non-Muslim intent on doing what he or she perceives to be the politically correct thing, as is so often the case.

Stokemaveric, I know what you mean. It can be pretty tiresome.

Another "shaggy dogs tale" from the Daily Mail then?

Calm down, calm down.
It's an absolute outrage.

They come to our country with their evil ways and expect us to jump through hoops for them.

Every Muslim I've ever met has tried to make me wear one of those jahib things....and often, when I've refused, they've killed me. I've been killed six times this year alone.

My mother had a Muslim family move next door to her and six months later she broke her leg whilst on a skiing holiday.

Now I'm not saying this is directly attributable to her Muslim neighbours...but it's a bit of a coincidence doncha think?

And don't you try and tell me that 99% of the Muslim population are just ordinary people trying to get on with their lives....they're all trying to pull down our glorious country with their mosques and funny music.

Wake up people.

(Wow...that was easy!)

Be careful sp1814, you may be elected as the leader of the revolution. ;-)

Saying that, i quite believe that they are to blame for mothers "accident".
