Shouldn't the general public have access to this new electronic tracking device, so that we can then find a Police Officer when we need one?

Unfortunately, criminals can easily avoid them already.
I always thought the security services had one of these tracking devices attached to Princess Diana's outerwear as she always complained they knew where she was before reaching her intended destination.

True story:

Earlier this year I saw a police car go through traffic lights on red. On turning the corner a few minutes later, it was outside the India takeaway and the two policemen with leaving the premises with their supper.
