now shannon matthews stepfather has been CHARGED with having 10 indecent pictures of children on his computer......the other kids ought to be taken off this pathetic excuse of a mother asap no wonder the kid doesnt want to go home.

Why is it though, that so MANY "step- fathers" seem to be involved in these hideous things? It makes me shudder. Obviously this doesn't appertain to all of them. I have a relative who's a genuine step-father to three children, and they love him to bits - even calling him daddy. Is it just social conditions that turn some people into these monsters, or is it more wide-spread than we think?

I hope that Shannon can go somewhere where she'll be loved and cared for in the right manner, but if her mum's innocent, then she should be returned to her, despite the living conditions, because for a little girl to be parted from her mum must be heartbreaking.

No Bez, I know what you mean. The thing is, I know a good few people who're struggling on benefits, for instance, and most of them have home computers now. It's not always as it seems though. In one case, a child gets one for nothing via her educational department, and two more people I know bought second-hand ones which didn't cost very much at all, and were almost out of memory. At least a sparse room shows that this couple don't have very much money at all, which doesn't automatically mean that in the normal way they'd be bad parents, but I feel for today's children who'll probably never know any better.
The 'step-father's' uncle had his own children removed and placed in care.
We don't know why, obviously.
However, it is possible that Shannon went to him for help and he just didn't know how to deal with it properly. He may have been acting for the best, as he saw it and the whole thing snowballed.
He could be on a court order not to be alone with children, or some such.
Or he may just be of low intelligence.
Or he may have had bad intentions towards her and really did abduct her forcibly against her will.
We may never know.

Look, the bottom line is they are all chav scum, from the retarded 'step-father' through the slapper of a mother, to all the friends, aunties and uncles.
I sincerely hope they aren't representative of Dewsbury as a whole (or should that be hole!).

These bloody types just pop out kids willy nilly with all and sundry without a second thought because they know the taxpayer will pick up the tab - she's 32 and has 7 kids by 5 different men and that, and I'll brook no argument on this, is just simply not right.
By far the best thing that can happen to all of the kids this woman has spawned is that they are given to decent people to raise them to give them a decent shot at life, because as sure as eggs are eggs, if they stay with the f e c k less and long-term pointless people around them, they will grow up in to scumbags as well.
