OMG!

Does Mars have a breathable atmosphere?
If anyone finds the word England offensive they should not be here.
That said I wonder if this is again the authorities being ultra sensitive when the average immigrant would not object in the slightest.
He's better off not joining those w@nkers at GMP
I wonder if he would be allowed to join if he had the word PAKISTAN or MUSLIM tattooed on his arm.

Probably.

To the best of my knowledge, Police Officer swear allegiance to the Queen NOT the pathethic Home Office.

As soon as Gordon Brown, with his pug faced one-eyed smirk dies and this truely foul and muslim-loving Government are blown to bits from some disgruntled citizen, the better if you ask me.

Sorry I'm not with you all on this one. Their rules are that tattoos on the lower arm are prohibited as they look unprofessional. In summer you do see officers in short sleeved shirts and frankly I think he would look a complete yob with ENGLAND the whole way up his arm. I espect more gravitas from my local bobby.

And I think his accusation that the recruitment officer said it would offence non-English people is complete flannel.
I take it im the only one here who has difficulty making out any letters on that tattoo? No way does that say "England" to me.

At which end of his arm does it start?
If it really is his lie long dream then he would have it removed and apply again! Despite my love of tattoos I am inclined to agree with Meglet. It's not a subtle tattoo is it. He should have thought about this, if he didn't think that a tattoo in a visible place would effect his ability to get into the police force then he truly does not have the brain power to make it very far as a copper.

Ahhh right Steve, I can see it now! For some reason I was trying to read it sideways, if you know what I mean- I couldn't fathom it out at all.

Thank you!
It looks f*kin awful. These are the rules..

Home Office policy precludes applications with tattoos on lower arm, hand, face or neck that are prominent, which may cause offence and/or invite provocation from the public or colleagues.

..well it looks pretty prominent to me, so that's tough isn't it. As Goodsoulette says, if he feels that strongly about it he'll remove it and re-apply.

Call me old fashioned but I think all tattoos are sleazy. They are a complete turn off for me. if my husband came home with one I would never forgive him. I also warned my son that I would not tolerate him having a tattoo. I think it stems fom my childhood when it was only rough people who had tattoos and it has stayed with me.
I also think tattoos look awful. I think that all the young women in their late teens and early twenties who have got tattoos will look extremely foolish when they are little old ladies in their seventies and eighties.
I can't even read that so what chance some one whose native, written language is not english has got I don't know.
As stated I think the Sun is being just plain naughty and stirring the priverbial again.
