Hands up anybody who actually gives a tinker's cuss.

Do we really need to spend 10m to investigate a road accident?

I must say, im getting fed up of the same thing poppoing up on the news.
No. A woman failed to do up her seatbelt; her driver was drunk; he crashed. The inquest is being entirely driven by al Fayed, who cannot accept that he was in any way at fault (he chose the driver) and wants to pin it on the royal family. He will fail.
Total and utter waste of money. Who cares. I completely agree with jno. Their was so much irresponsibility from so many on that night (and I include the empty headed Diana and her playboy lover). Ten years on and we (including myself!) are still talking about it.
I'm with you flip flop, let her rest in peace, she's been dead 10 years and not a day goes by when she's not in the the papers. Ok there are some unanswered questions but I couldn't care less, just stop!
Yep I'm sick to the back teeth hearing about it!!
I got fed up with it when it happened. My work was closed for the day of the funeral (as a mark of respect) . I got so fed up with the wailing and gnashing of teeth and chucking of flowers - that I went and opened up anyway.

Talk about not letting things lie - the whole thing is a waste of time and money.
i agree and exactly whose money are they using, i wonder if it had ben joe public would we still be having an inquest 10 years on, of course we wouldnt, and does it really matter, shes dead nothing going to bring her back
why can't they just let her rest in peace!!
A lot of people think Charles and/or Phillip had a hand in it and the popularity of he monarchy has suffered greatly-i guess they need to put an end to the speculation if Charles is ever going to have respect as King, he should never have married Diana in the first place . I think they are all a drain on taxpayers but if this country wants a monarchy then we all have to pay for it
This lass will live longer than Elvis at this rate.
How comes this inquest was allowed anyway? Al Fayed isn't even a British Citizen.

How anyone in their right mind can think that this was a plot by the royals is beyond me. I am sure they could have come up with something less chancey if they had wanted!
For the "establishment" that wanted her out of the way this was a very very fortuitous accident, it saved them a lot of hassle, i bet they couldnt believe their luck.
Unkind, but true bazwillrun! She certainly wasn't good news for the Royal family. Charles should have resisted the pressure to marry and produce heirs, and not married her in the first place. She brought nothing but problems.
I too am getting tired of hearing about this. It doesn't matter what the outcome of the inquest is you'll always get the minority that believe sinister forces were at work that night and they'll never let this drop.
Ok, if there are unanswered questions then fair enough, but this inquest has gone far beyond its remit. Do we really need to know the content of private letters etc etc? I dont think so.
The whole idea of the inquest is to find out what truely happened.

One would think that the likes of jno and LoftyLottie, were actually there in the company of Princess Diana and Co. on that fateful night in Paris.

Given the couldn't care less attitude of some ABers, I wonder if they would take the same stance if it had been any of their family who had been the victims, and there was still questions left unanswered?

It is easy to show a coudn't care less attitude, when one is not personally involved.
I wasn't there, oldgit, but there was a French inquiry - rather closer in time and space to where it happened - and that's what it found: drunk driver, no seat belts.
What particular questions were left unanswered OAG?
As jno rightly says, the driver was proved to have been drinking, the princess was irresponsibly not wearing a seat belt and they were driving too fast in what was a car chase.

And yes, you are right, I couldn't care less. I did not personally know the princess or Dodi Fayed. It was a very sad accident ten years ago and people that are still weeping and wailing about it get on my nerves. I can think of far more things to get upset about.

As I said before, if this was some sort of plot to get rid of her it was a pretty pathetic one! Even I could think of something a lot simpler with less chance of going wrong.
as a friend of the earth the sooner this is put to bed once and for all, the better.

every sunday when i go to buy a newspaper the headline almost without exception is still about diana or if not then madeleine.

the sad people who choose to buy a 'news'paper on this basis when it aint news are contributing to the decimation of huge areas of forest weekly.
