It seems to have gone awfully quiet on the Blair front. Now don't get me wrong, I can't stand the grinning buffoon, but no-one seems to have mentioned him since he stood down.

perhaps we should know what he is doing....look what he did when we were watching!!
Actually I.don.nothat is a very good point, what is he up to? Its like kids when they are playing together and everything goes quiet, you just know they are up to something !
I give up.

You can't stand him when he's around, and now he's gone, suddenly you miss him.

Last seen shaking hands in the Middle East a few days ago.

I didn't say that I missed him, far from it! It just seems strange that no-one mentions him these days.
It is very unusual for a Prime Minister to resign through choice rather than get voted out (like say Major did) or kicked out (like say Thatcher did).

I think he has deliberately kept a low profile so as to not get any publicity while Gordon Brown is settling in.

You can imagine that if Blair was around he would keep getting questions about how he thought Brown is doing, or what does he think of the terrorist attack on Glassgow airport, or the foot and mouth crisis, or whatever.

To his credit he has gone right out of the public eye so that everyone is aware that Gordon is now in charge.
I agree with warpig
vhg I find it hard to believe that Tony Blair is keeping a low profile to allow Gordon Brown to settle in, it just doesn't ring true to me, I think it is more likely that he has delibrately taken a low profile to allow the controversy that surrounded the end of his tenure to die down. IMO.
best prime minister we have had since winston churchill
He's probably being interviewed somewhere in the Middle East, looking at the camera and saying 'trust me' (grin grin)
He was appointed Middle East envoy for Geo Bush (sorry the quartet), told not to talk to Hamas and let Condi Rice claim the credit for any peace settlement between Israeli and the Palestinians. Soon after rockets were fired from Gaza injuring over 40 Israeli servicemen and a retaliation strike was made on the Gaza strip.
Nobody has learnt the lessons of the Ireland situation where it was necessary, despite the bombings, to talk to the IRA. By not talking to Hamas a similar problem occurs.
It doesn't matter what he thinks anymore so nobody bothers asking him.
