There have been various posts on here with regards human rights and whether people terrorist suspects should be locked up without trial (like Guantanomo Bay)

I was just doing a bit of research and found this quote: "The power of the executive to cast a man in prison without formulating any charge known to the law and particularly to deny him the judgement of his peers is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government...." Would anyone care to guess as to who wrote this and when? It was Winston Churchill in 1943. Have we turned into a country that would make Churchill turn in his grave?

I've tried to stay level-headed by th utter playground idiotic nonsense I've been reading on some threads about Muslims, but in the fact of the horse cack being spewed recently it's becoming more and more difficult.

I've even avoided using the 'R' word...but by God...it's hard.

It's really, really hard.
Personally I class myself as proud to be English.

I don't class myself as British, I was born in England and live in England.
Awww Splat, I'm with you. I just said the same sort of thing on that Immigrants post.

This is all mildly depressing.
