Loud clonking noises

This morning my car started to lose power, then the power kicks in agaion once i put my foot down on excellerator. Then five mins later it started making a loud clonking noise, when i excellerate the noise gets louder sounding like a "dugger dugger digger dugger"

Any ideas as to what it is.
