What a surprise, I knew you wouldn't miss a chance to slag of the Brit's. How is France these days?

I think it's ok. nothing to write home about at the moment but it's going to evolve as the games draw closer, apparently. I though the logo that we had to win the bid was the one they where going to use so this is a bit of a surprise.

Slag off the Brits? What are you on about? If you are waiting in anticipation of my questions and perceive an anti-UK bias, you must be a very sad individual.
Looks like the Nazi SS symbol.
Hi Gromit
Well, it certainly does not jump out at me. Would not recognise it again if I saw it.
I agree with you Gromit - it's diabolical!

As for the design, I think most 5 year olds could have come up with something better!
I wonder how much the graphic designers got aid to come up with that? I could have done something better for a fiver!

Interesting though if it is going to evolve as the games get closer.
It just looks...bad.

A lot of people won't 'get' the fact that its supposed to spell out '2012'.

Just...bad.

If the thought that was twaddle, look at the designers' website

It looks like Maggie Simpson giving head..!
Mmmm, I see what you mean about that website Gromit!

If you scroll down the following page, you will find plenty more negative comments:

New London Olympics Logo
In my humble opinion....

appalling!
I wonder how many million the design company charged us to come up with that.
There are some decent alternatives here..

I like the first one on that link Ludwig. It's much better than the one they have chosen. My three year old grandsons could have done better than that!
you see the thing is it's been designed as an animation for use on TV etc and as such the still version doesn't really do it justice, I thought the animated one was quite effective though.

Looosehead,

I don't mean to be offensive, but you are not Sebastian Coe are you?
The logo should have been a big white elephant in a 5 ring circus.
I thought ok - not great not terrible more nondescript than edgy!

I couldn't see how it represented the swastika but then it was only when sp pointed out that it represents 2010 and had to go back and have another look. So there is probably a lot of people like me who will miss the point.
2012 not 10, can not even get the date correct.
I like the idea of a grafitti style 2011 I just don't think they did it very well

Maybe they should've got some kids in with spray cans to show them how to do it.

It cost 400,000 apparently - I hope they kept the receipt
I believe it cost about 400,000

Bargain eh?!
