Jenny Bond and Lord Broket had an argument about whether murder carried a statutary life sentance (12 years?), Brocket said not. I think I agree with him but does anyone know for sure? Thanks

Murder carries a mandatory life sentence; but the actual number of years to be spent in prison (known as the tarrif) is for the Judge to determine in each case.
