Your reasoning for the tad ironic question?
Are you suggesting that the Americans have committed more crimes than he did. Or are you suggesting that the hanging had the effect of stopping the second trial, and keeping certain matters out of public view?
I know what you mean. There is an irony for anyone hung for murder.

Society thinks it is wrong that you killed someone.

So what do we do about it? Kill someone.

panic button's got it right.
it just seems that they're condemming the act of murder by commiting it. we should be beyond the days of 'an eye for an eye' no?
I'm glad to say we are in this country.

It's disappointing that supposedly civilised USA hasn't caught up yet, or realised that capital punishment has no deterrent effect. Just look at their murder rate.
The issue of hanging has nothing to do with the Saddam saga. The fact is the Red Neck in the White House supports hanging in his own country. It is hard to accept that a country which has given so much to the Humanities, to art, literature, music, cinema, can have such a peabrain for President.
