Isn't it a remarkable difference when you read the story reported from another (non-mail) angle?

She was, quote " caught unawares," unquote, at the interveiw, she didnt realise that a man would be present.
If I attended an important job interview, I would be prepaired for every enventuality, and expect the unexpected, even if it were an all femail school with all femail staff, I would expect a mail presence somewhere
I wouldn't say a christion backlash, more of a return of common sence, but 2 swallows don't make a summer.
No backlash at all, this young woman was a bit naive in the school she chose, if she has qualifications, and she must have, to have got the job, I don't see why, if she only wants to wear the veil if men are present, why she couldn't have taken a job in a girls only school.

The judgement, in my opinion, was correct.

Ok, perhaps I shouldnt have mentioned the Christian backlash (we dont want our peace loving muslim brothers and sisters burning the union flag and beheading people in protest do we)? but I think it's about time everyone realised that we welcome multiculturalism in our country, and some of us find it offensive to speak to someone when we cant see their face and judge their reactions.
I drive through Leicester every day, and the number of times a lady cuts me up because she is wearing the full face veil and cant see left or right is unbelivable, if they dont cut you up, they stay in the right lane for miles and miles driving at 25mph because eventually they are going to do a right turn.
Sorry?

You get cut up by a woman on the school run and blame it on the fact that she's wearing a veil?

I think may of us have been cut up but middle-Englands finest in their Chelsea tractors

What's their excuse?

Question Author
My point is that they cannot see who's to either side of them when they are wearing the full face veil, they look like daleks, and jake,I do not wear anything which impedes my vision, also my "chelsea tractor", as you put it, enables me to have all round vision, nor do I do a "school run"

I thought the mix of the veil with denim was quite cool.I'm sure this look is going to surface in the Paris fashion shows at some point.Tell me though, if she wins her ruling at the European Court, (which she obviously wont) does that mean I have to convert to Islam to get the same right to wear the veil as she does and have days off from washing my hair and wearing make-up when i have a 'bad me day'?I'm sure she has something to hide she's not letting on about.
fair point on the difference in the articles jake. what's with the three stars for wm it's obvious by his stellar answer he didn't even bother to read the articles, or he doesn't understand what he read.
