I've just watched a news report o the lady working for BA or whoever, the one who was sent home for wearing a cricifix around her neck. Having now seen the offending tiny crucifix, I'm somewhat baffled as to the reason why she was suspended. Is it a health and safety issue?, or is it an offensive item. Somebody come up with a simple answer please?

Could you be a bit more specific, Lonnie, and explain exactly where it is 'Whitemass now'. I mean, would you care to name a specific location - town, suburb, village, for instance? Or is it just something your lapped up in you Mail on Sunday this morning?
Tsk, tsk ,ccme now, I thought you'd have learnt by now that facts and figures only cloud the issue and tend to spoil the rants and ravings on here...
I have asked this question before & as yet haven't received an answer:

Where in the UK has Christmas ever been banned?
"it said that Sikhs were allowed to were their religious bangles in the open"

As always people commenting on subjects they know little or nothing about, nowhere in the bible, the Pope or church of England decreed that as a Christian you are obliged to wear a cross/crucifix. The wearing of a bangle along with the other 4 K's is at the very centre of Sikhism, it's simply not an option not to wear one as it is also not an option for a Sikh to cut their hear and hence cover it with a turban.

Effectively requesting a Sikh not to wear a bangle is effectively asking them to stop being a Sikh, asking a women to wear her cross under her clothes rather than over them does not come close to the same thing.

To answer the question she was suspended for failing to comply with the companies dress policy.
It's all to do with trying to balance the scales on behalf of those demanding muslims, who are trying to take over this country.
I say stop pussy footing it around and start clamping down somewhat on their demands. To start with make it illegal to wear that silly garment that only shows their eyes. As this can become a security threat in some instances, and a safety issue also.
Make all school children wear the standard uniform at school, getting rid of those head scarves. (France did it without any trouble).
All those various Ethnic Community Councils, Parliaments, or Associations should be disbanded, they are unnecessary there are elected bodies to represent any idividual living in this country, regardless of class, culture, or religion.
If a Sikh wishes to becomes a police officer he should wear a helmet as all other officers.
If they wish to ride a motor cycle they should wear a crash helmet as do the rest of the population of this country. They should also not be allowed to carry an offensive weapon in public.
Unless we take some positive action now against anything that is likely to alter our laws or our culture, simply for their benefit, then we will only live to regret it in the future.
