Havent thought about them in a long while. Is this the party that had Robert Kilroy-Silk as a frontman till egos got in the way?

Never liked RKS, and never thought much about UKIP, except that I always thought their natural constituency was of the "angry of tunbridge wells" mentality.
Cameron surely knows what he is talking about - if ever the Tory Party made a mistake it was in electing this fruitcake and looney to be their leader.

Pretty much agree with that. What's controvertial or difficult about that though? I'd also agree with David Cameron if he said the sky was blue and water wet.

I've always been a floating voter, towards the left, but since Cameron got the Tory Leadership, i'm floating back towards the middle, although i'll never vote Labour as long as this crowd have power.

As far as his latest rant is concerned, he's either got bad advisors or lost the plot completely.

you have it the wrong way round Loosehead: what's remarkable is that a Tory leader finally agrees with me. Glad they're seeing sense at last.

I agree in principle with Mr Cameron's observations, but for him to make such a statement in his position on a BBC station is utterly unaccceptable, and UKIP are entirely justified in demanding an apology.

Having a personal opinion is one thing - voicing it in those terms on natioanl radio as leader of a major political party is another.

OK. So all of you who agree with Cameron, tell me how you think UKIP are rascist?

I think David Cameron could certainly of chose his words more wisely, I feel it was probably just inexpierience that did it. The problem for UKIP in my opinion is:- Put UK or a Union Flag into the equation and they end up being tarred with the same brush as the likes of the BNP, or Fathers for Justice, who both receive a bad press. But they don't help themselves do they.

All the same DC shouldn't have said it, and yes, he should apologise for his remarks. (In my opinon)

Accusing the UKIP of being racist without offering one iota of proof demonstrates to my satisfaction that Cameron is simply not fit to be party leader and that Tory lies and deceit haven't changed.
So we have Tory lies and deceit, and we have Labour lies and deceit, The only thing thats new, is that Labour are outdoing the Tories in this department.
Lonnie if you believe that Labour are outdoing the Tory government in lies and corruption and insider dealing and hypocrisy then I can only see three options:

1. you are too young to remember
2. you are a daily express or daily mail reader
3. you are a rabid tory voter

Which one is it Lonnie? Come on tell the truth.
If by "lefty's" (sic) you mean people who are not brainwashed by the Daily Mail, I guess that includes me (funny, never seen myself as being particularly socialist before - still, I'm sure you know best).

Anyway, sorry to disappoint you, old fruit, but I can quite easily agree with a Tory on the rare occasions they make sense. "Racists" may be going a bit far, but "fruitcakes and loonies"? Yep, that sounds like UKIP to me.
We're not talking about the Tory government, there isn't one. We're discussing whether 'UKIP' is a bunch of fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists.

Fair enough don1, I read first, the Daily Mail, and then the Guardian, as for being too young to remember, I'm young enough to remember the Macmillan Goverment, so I think I can say I speak from experience.

We all have our views, you have yours, I have mine, and from my perspective, which has nothing to do with the question, this goverment is the most corrupt and sleaziest we've had, post war.

Is being xenophobic the same as being racist? If so, then UKIP are guilty as charged.

IMO UKIP are just a middle class version of the BNP. More intelligent (maybe), better PR, better targetted (they are opposed to the EU but not necessarily "Europeans" as if there is a difference).

It's not, alas. I always yell 'xenophobe' when I see a UKIP campaigner.

Trouble is Cameron has moved over so far left he's almost sitting in Browns lap. Not our Tony's note I say - he aint no lefty really is he ?.

As for racists, show me a party that has not got one in it.

And, not liking europe but not against Europeans, that is two totally different things.Europe is what they are using to descibe the huge beurocratic body that soaks money for all of us to pay the privildeged few a bucket load. Europens are the poor saps (Englishmen amongst them) who pay.

Wjhy should we have to provide proof of racism? Why can't we rely on what we read in the papers?

Why can't we point to RKS's 'anti-Mulim/anti-Arab' rhetoric

(see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3376633.stm)?

Would you vote for a party who dismissed an entire set of people as "suicide bombers, limb-amputators, women repressors"? Why the hell are there so many apologisers for these scum?

This isn't the Old Bailey - we see what we see. And the UKIP would not get my vote or any other sensible person who does mouth words as they read or finds long division complex.

Former UKIP leader Alan Sked was quoted in the Mail on Sunday claiming the former party chairman and MEP Nick Farage told him: "We will never win the n****r vote. The n*g-n*gs will never vote for us."

Would anyone who believes that the UKIP is a party of love and acceptance like me to post a link to the story?

Not much to the point - although I suspect DC had political correctness in mind with the 'racist' bit - but I am eternally amused to think how all the lefties and 'Blair-bashers' are going to vote next time around !!

Will they have to bite the bullet and vote TORY ?

Or waste it on the Liberals ? Or not bother at all.
