I've come to the conclusion that there's only about 100 active members on this site. Would that be about right AB?

How did you come by that figure xyzzy? i suppose it all depends on what you term active really though i would have pegged it at less than that you may well be right.

And what about those people (you know who you are) who have more than one username?
and another thought strikes me now why don't all the regulars really make an effort to be at the convention then we can see how many there really are!!! and if TW is really as short as he makes out :>)
Well, I'm on the AB everyday, and I try to answer something daily if I can! But even if I don't make 'an appearance', I'm here watching! And well said sft42. Let's make the Convention an event to remember - let's get as many of us there as possible! (By the way, is TW paying you for being his chief recruiter!) :-)
According to statistics .... on any group forum the majority of postings are done by a small minority of members. Many people prefer just to view rather than participate. sft42 .. admire your sentiments on the "convention" but location is not very central !!

I've been noticing names and frequency, even stephaniel is more frequent than he/she says. However, the hardcore of active users are very active and very knowledgeable and make this site what it is - brilliant. It's so much more logical than most newsgroups/forums and I'm continually astounded that we manage to avoid inane gossip, chat, trolls ~(almost) and flamewars. Personally I think we got enough knowledge between us and I hope it doesn't get a lot bigger. Although with 10,000,00+ users in UK, strange that this site gets comparatively little traffic.

Wendy the location was chosen because as discovered by some questions a while back a LOT of the regulars are scottish and glasgow has excellent rail and air connections to the rest of the UK. Sorry if it's not handy for you.
Yip, get saving for that cheap flight to Glasgow, WendyW. Think of it as a little spring break . . . come up for the weekend, do some shopping, visit some galleries and round it all off with an evening of talking nonsense with a bunch of new people. Go on . . . you know it'll be fun.
Hey AB Ed. What happened to my replies here? I'm fairly sure I didn't post anything offensive or break any rules.
I thought there were a couple of contributions from stephaniel on this thread. They've disappeared I think. Do we know why? Just interested!

Hi TW. I think stephaniel just mentioned how often she posted on the site, but that she looked at it most days, and how she probably wouldn't be able to make the convention. Nothing incriminating I don't think!
yes, how *do* you pronounce your name, xyzzyplugh? In my head I pronounce it as "zizzyploo" but it doesn't quite trip off the tongue . . . do you have a preference?
Question Author
Yes Ravenhair, 'zizzy why ploo' is more accurate than my estimation, I never really said it out loud before. It is a word made from 2 clues in crowther's 'Adventure'. Q.V.
Question Author
unable to attend TW, but I would've loved to see you in wizard's hat and kilt. Pity this site doesn't do 'User fotos', hint hint AB Ed. Also, I don't think xyzzyplugh should be pronounced out loud, 'who knows what' might happen.
Question Author
Welcome back Stephaniel, missed you. You been goofing around with the bees?
Hi xyzzy, it's nice to be missed. I became non-existant for 24 hours! Very strange. Glad to be back.
