I cannot agree with your view that the civil disobedience enacted by JSO is on a par with that enacted by the examples you offered in support of your point.

The JSO protests will be totally ignored by the people that could actually instigate the changes they seek, for the reason I have already offered - they live on other continents.

Protest that neither enhances the cause in question, or in any way at all draws the smallest attention to that cause, is utterly pointless.

That's wherever JSO protests are - ineffective, disrupting people who cannot change anything, and having absolutely no impact on the situation they wish to change.

They do nothing except seek attention, vex people, and detract from any possible chance of sympathy with their aims.

we shall see about effectiveness... it is not true however that they only protest in the UK... the same organisation acts under different names across europe and in the USA... brave climate activists are also active in brazil, china and india. i quite agree that they need more to win... perhaps you might support them? ;)
