[Week 26! Good grief, that's half the year gone! Get those sprouts on for Christmas, folks!}
;-)

Good evening, once again!

Two of the news stories covered in the main quiz are ones that I’ve posted links to on AB earlier in the week. That, together with some lucky guesses, helped me towards a decent score of SIX out of seven:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-66047528

Not so good for me on the junior quiz this week though, as I could only manage a lowly TWO out of ten:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51318780

A ‘so-so’ score of FIVE out of ten in the Timed Teaser rounded off my efforts this week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-66014195

I suspect that my aggregate score of 13 will prove to be unlucky for me, with many here managing to beat me this week. Will you be one of them though, I wonder?

Good evening, not a good week for me, 4,3,3 had no idea of most of them.

At least you managed to achieve double figures with your aggregate score, and to avoid any real disasters as well, Roo. I suspect that there might be quite a few lower scores to come ;-)
7, 3, 4 for me so the same ver all as you Chris
I couldn’t beat your aggregate score so it’s safe for now. 5, 2 and 5 with a lot of guesses.
Question Author
Well done on that perfect 7, Toorak - and on beating me too, of course!
(I'm fairly sure that 14 is bigger than 13 anyway!)
Question Author
Thanks for keeping me company on two out of the three quizzes, Milo2. It was only a lucky guess for me that separated us on the first quiz too ;-)
Good job it wasn’t an arithmetic quiz!
Evening Chris.

4/7

2/5

4/10

Hope this finds you well ; ))
Good Evening, Chris! I cannot believe how fast this year is hurtling past! How can it be July tomorrow?
My scores are
6/7, 3/5, 6/10
(One of my better weeks!)
I have tried to add in some photos of my adorable gran-puppy who visited last week and also my friend's new kitten, so hope this has been successful.
As always I wish you, Chequers, Moonbeam and Tablo a wonderful week together with lots of lovely sunshine :-)

Never trust a former maths teacher to add up though, Toorak. I'm OK with x, y and √, it's just numbers that I find hard to get to grips with ;-)

Hi, Sam.

I am, as always, "Not too bad for an old 'un". I hope that life is treating you well too.

Well done on reaching double figures, anyway ;-)
Question Author
Hi, Karamia!

Well done on taking the lead with a mighty aggregate of 15!

The photos are lovely. Thank you so much!

The puppy looks to be a real bundle of fun and the kitten reminds me so much of my gorgeous Chequers. Please keep them coming!

Chequers, Moonbeam and Tablo have been making the best of the fine weather lately, remaining outside all day and all night. (The only exception is my darling Chequers, who comes in around dawn to snuggle up next to me on my bed until whatever time I finally get up).

I hope that you'll have a lovely week too!
6/7 v 4/7
2/5 v 1/5
5/10 v 2/10
13/22 v 9/22 Gosh! I win again!
Must be Friday night....
Shady's staying out much of the night like your three.
Hope your still enjoying the gardens with your visitors :-))
5/7
3/5
7/10

Several lucky guesses in there...
Question Author
Hi, Haras2!

Thanks for letting me beat you in all three quizzes this week ;-)

I hope that Shady's not been too hot in the sun.

My friends from Italy have now returned to Trieste (although they'll be visiting Scotland and the north of England this coming month - they're always travelling!). I was tempted to go to another open gardens event, in a village just outside Stowmarket, on my own last Sunday but I decided against it in the end (largely because it was too flaming hot!). I might get to an amateur radio rally near Norwich on Sunday but that will depend upon whether or not I can reset my body clock enough to allow me to get up early on that day.

I hope that you and Shady will both have a good week.
5/7 3/5 6/10 = 14

Thanks, Buen. I need some distraction tonight. x
Question Author
Well done on some fine scores, Jourdain2.

I hope that you're brother-in-law turns out to be like my uncle, who was given just a few months to live but who eventually died (of something completely different) 25 years later. However things pan out though, I hope that you'll be able to keep cheerful; the very last thing that people with terminal diagnoses need is to be surrounded by gloomy people.
More guesses than past few weeks.

Main: 4/7
Jnr: 3/5
Timed: 7/10
6/7,1/5,4/10, could blame it on being in the middle of the Namibian desert with no internet access for eight days….Have returned to Puss Puss in turbo moult and Bailey’s cyst on his face has gone pop. Hope all is good with you and yours
Question Author
Guesses they may be, Arky, but you've still beaten me this week anyway! Well done!

Namibian desert or not, Campbellking, you've still matched by good score on the main quiz! Well done! (Was it a wildlife safari and, if so, what did you see?)

I hope that you're making a massive fuss of Puss and Bailey, and that they've forgiven you for deserting them. ('Deserting'? Is there some sort of awful pun there, I wonder?).

My lot are as daft as ever - as am I ;)
Question Author
Oops! I seem to have missed Lie-in King's post! Sorry about that!

Well done on going joint top this week - as usual!
;-)
