Britain’s foreign secretary [Johnson]attended a NATo meeting in Brussels about the Russian Novachik poisonings. He left it, apparently still holding documents. He somehow managed to lose the 24/7 security detail that all foreign secretaries have. He flew to Italy alone. And there he met the a former lieutenant-colonel in the KGB, Alexander Lebedev, a spy who was stationed inside the Russian embassy in London in the late 1980s and served alongside fellow officers who included Vladimir Putin. It was a meeting, Johnson acknowledged to MPs last week, that took place in breach of all protocols, without any foreign office officials present.

The thing is Peter Pedant, the usual Johnson fanboys and girls are strangely quiet whenever this subject is brought up.
None can even fashion an excuse for him, let alone explain such clandestine behaviour that goes against all governmental, diplomatic and procedural rules.
Maybe they can’t bear the fact that in reality his behaviour would lead one to surmise that he is in fact the biggest 5C socialist and Marxist since the Cambridge 5 scandal?
Why would a Foreign Secretary purposely give his security detail the slip directly from a NATO summit and meet in private an ex KGB agent?
Was he selling this country down the river in a traitorous exchange?
Given his character, demeanour and contacts it’s well within the realms of possibility.

No idea, that’s why I’m asking. As the meeting was alone, directly from a NATO meeting that discussed how to deal with Russia, just weeks after the Salisbury Poisoning it certainly looks iffy.
After all, they’ve been taking Russian funds, free holidays and offering tennis matches for charitable donations.
