...from puppy farms in Poland. Apparently sold to middlemen here in the UK. I thought we've reduced the number of puppy farms here, yet it's a roaring trade still thanks to this.

I see that Cat's Protection is trying to alert people who want to buy kittens - the babies are being taken from their mothers far too young.

The problem is that people are stupid, they want a bargain and baby Dogs and Cats are SO adorable.

All they really need to do if they really wanted to, would be to stop the transport of cats and dogs altogether into the UK. We have plenty here.
I wonder how these pets get chipped, surely the vet asks where they animal came from?
Being taken from their mothers and littermates at such a young age can cause health problems and behavioural issues. They need to be fed by their mums for as long as possible.

It all comes down to money for these criminals, it is an evil trade.

It's against the law not to chip dogs. Not yet for cats though.

This is purely about money and greed...as usual.
I know pasta, thats why I am asking the question.

Surely the vet is supposed to know where the animal was bought and what breed it is? Otherwise what is the point of chipping?
Question Author
I'm really not sure that information is even required.
????
You really think the morons who buy these are going to bother taking them to a vet? And you can buy microchips anywhere. Its all down to supply and demand - while people will buy them the criminals will keep supplying them.
