Among all the stupidity and tit-for-tat games being played out in the EU, Prof. Sarah Gilbert and her team should be proud of themselves for developing an affordable vaccine that could change the world for the better in the coming year.
I really hope that now the US has approved it's safety and effectiveness, doubters in the UK and elsewhere will finally quit their moaning.

It might seem very frustrating and “political” that concerns of individual countries about AZ (which have nothing to do with the EU’s concerns over vaccine supplies generally) have seemed to doubt this particular vaccine.
It’s wrong though I think to be sneering if there are ur were genuine safety concerns. These have been raised, put to the test, and proved unfounded. But it’s really time this ceased being a war.
