Its a lie....Britain has never been the best...perhaps at damaging other countries and their populations etc oh and, with a huge amount of assistance, seeing off Hitler and winning the world cup in 1966 .... and the latter 2 are what people keep quoting.

Purely on the best answer issue: I got the impression once that a better answer was selected to replace the best answer on a thread (can't recall which) so in with the new and out with the old, or am I mistaken ? Maybe a moderator can enlighten us. But I share Sqad's sentiment that they should be abolished (just "Like" in a different form).

Of course, it says a lot. It says Britain is looked on as the soup kitchen of Europe, an easy touch. Immigrants don't choose Britain because it's the best country in the world to live -they choose it because it's the easiest place to get Benefits and stay on Benefits -not the most money -I believe Germany gives out more in Benefits -but the easiest to get and maintain. It's interesting to note that those countries that make it the most difficult to emigrate to -Canada, Australia, New Zealand, for example, have far better quality of life and far less unemployment and benefit scroungers.
