I've heard very few around me tonight - such a shame in the current depressing climate. I wanted to buy some sparklers today and discovered that neither Sainsburys nor Waitrose are selling fireworks this year - shame on them for not honouring a British tradition.

There's been no fireworks since Sunday night.
Been loads near me.
They're all being let off down here in B&H.
lots of loud fireworks going off tonight, personally i would ban them all
Been a few, but nothing like the barrage of previous years.
A few here tonight. The dog is enjoying them, anyway.
We had a few last night but have had lots tonight.
It was crazy earlier here, quietened down a lot now.
loads here last night and tonight. once again the firework control petition has broken the 100,000 signatures barrier (5th straight year) and will be considered for debate. From the way the numbers rattled up tonight it seems as though there are still plenty of fireworks around and plenty of people wishing that there weren't.
Had quite a few here earlier. Glad they've stopped though.
Plenty here...my flat stunk from them last night.
Guess they'll not be signing the petition against them ...I suppose you've not either diddly.

Woofgang - they can only be killjoys and we don't need those right now - or ever.
think what it does for wildlife, they must be scared out of their wits,
people's pets don't always enjoy what we call fun
Heard two fireworks and that’s your lot.
"can only be killjoys and we don't need those right now"

Bang on! ho ho
killjoys no mate just ones who are concerned for the welfare of animals.
they are still going on.
They've just started up again here again :o(
Though i signed the petition, i wouldn't necessarily advocate the total ban of sales. I would, however, put a restriction on their use to say, between 7pm and 9pm on Nov 5th, and not at all on any other day. They are still being set off almost incessantly near me and my poor dog is a nervous wreck.
We have had quite a few days where they have been a constant background noise, night and day. What i cannot understand is why they are being set off during daylight hours. Surely, the array of colours these airborne fireworks produce are better viewed in the dark?
Ken, exactly
