Gromit, why do you quote from the stuff you've been looking at and yet fail to post a link?

//A Welsh Conservative source said Mr Davies had not yet been officially nominated, "but he is the candidate" for the Anglesey seat of Ynys Mon.//

I wonder who the 'Welsh Conservative source' is?

Sorry Naomi,

If the statement from the Conservative source proves to be untrue, I will ask AB to pull the thread.

Meanwhile, if it is true, and a man recently convicted of fraud and dumped by his constituents, turns up in a safe seat, don’t you think that stinks ?
It wouldn't be wise to select such a candidate.

* It is not a safe Conservative seat, they lost by 5000 votes, so all academic.
If you're going to lose the seat anyway it doesn't matter who you put up - Hannibal Lecter?
Might be part of the deal with Nigel.
"This is unbelievable from the Tories. By imposing a convicted former MP who was found guilty of a false expenses claim as the candidate for the island shows how little they care about Ynys Mon."

That sentiment runs both ways; Ynys Môn (Anglesey) seems to have little regard for Tories, having only returned a Tory MP for an 8 year period (1979-87) since 1725
... and yet they have now returned a Tory MP.
