After carrying out these non Royal duties; a holiday in Ibiza, staying on Elton Johns yatch in the South of France, a trip to New York to watch a game of tennis and a society wedding in Rome, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they need to take 6 weeks off from Royal duties! I can't see how this news will enthral the taxpayer. It has been said they will spend Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham, we'll see. It will be interesting to see how they spend those 6 weeks while thinking up an excuse not to go to Sandringham.

"Not in work until midday, dress fitting, teeth whitening, hair straightening, then home to supervise the staff with Archie." "We need six weeks off to slow down a bit luv, can't burn ourselves...

My answer was to Dave.
That's pocket money compared to what the queen will leave & what Charles gets from his various (inherited) estates.
I really don't mind what anyone thinks about them, but I sure don't feel I need to agree with them if I feel differently.

I wasn't aware that Meghan had been stealing.
Barsel - I don't know what they do day to day. I don't know if they've earned a 6 week break. I know I'd rather live my life than theirs though.

Meghan chose her path, Harry didn't, and I really think he tries to use his position well.

I agree ummmm I'm just a bit concerned that all the good work that Harry has done will be overshadowed by the life his wife likes to live.

AOG I knew when I posted this that there will be some who don't agree with what I'm saying, that's fair enough, but I still think I'm entitled to say what I feel about it.
It really doesn't matter as nobody is making me feel upset about it, it's just a discussion and everybody is entitled to their say, I respect that.
I really don't understand why the press has turned on her. Maybe I just don't care enough. I don't think it's because she's a mixed race divorcee. I think it's more because she's a celeb.
Question Author
You're right ummmm . We knew she was a celeb but thought perhaps she will leave thaT LIFE BEHIND AND BECOME A COMMITED MEMBER OF THE rf. i CAN'T SEE HOW SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO DO. Oops, I'm not shouting, I hit the caps lock by mistake :-)
If they don't want the criticism why do they keep doing the things they are being criticised for? After the programme is shown this evening there will be some who will feel very sorry that Meghan is upset, then there will be people like me who will be trying to work out if these are crocodile tears. We will see. It would take a lot to persuade me.
I'm sure her PR firm has advised them, rightly or wrongly. I hope it doesn't backfire.

"Yes Harry, I agree, these ribbon cutting fiascos are taking it out of me. Blisters on my fingers."

"Poor us, people just don't realise what it's like to be Royal."

ummmm //I really don't understand why the press has turned on her//

It probably goes back to when only certain journalists and newspapers were invited to take pictures. Apart from that, they are both going to sue the press and as others have said, that could well backfire.
Cromwell had the right idea.
"Poor us, people just don't realise what it's like to be Royal."

Envy is a sin! And no, we don't know what it's like to be a royal, I wouldn't sacrifice my life for it.
Question Author
Theland, you actually made me laugh with that:-)
Barsel - I would sue them too if I blamed them for the death of my mother.
Question Author
Neither would I ummmm, I could never live my life in a goldfish bowl, but she decided to marry into the RF and I honestly believe she didn't know what she was letting herself in for.
I'm with David Small - the restoration should never have happened.
Question Author
I remember when William used to hate the press, but I expect someone has taken him to one side and had a word in his shell-like as he seems to get on well with them now, and getting on well with the press will always be an advantage, otherwise, they will just hound you.
Vive la republique.
If it's all so arduous perhaps they can resign from being a royal.
Papers are always keen to pander to the sycophants, filling the paper with such nonsense.
Theland , 20.20 . Spot on, love your answer.
