I agree that abuse is never necessary. Free speech, with no threatening behaviour, is acceptable though, even if it is not PC.
vetuste - // If you believe in multi-culturalism (and you may not), then it follows that you must accept both that culture A which thinks homosexuality is good and that culture B which thinks homosexuality is an abomination are equally valid. //

No argument there, but holding a view and expressing it in an antic-social and intimidating fashion are not the same thing.

Everyone is entitled to their viewpoint regarding just about anything, but using the notion of 'free speech' to intimidate someone is not what free speech is about.

Just because one allows different cultures to live alongside each other it doesn't follow that one must believe each are equally valid. One can decide different parts of each are mistaken. One might even think one is completely right and the other completely wrong.

// Hope they catch this bigot. //

If they ever find a suspect, I'd love to see the identity parade. That'd be hilarious.
Old_Geezer - // One can decide different parts of each are mistaken. One might even think one is completely right and the other completely wrong. //

One can, but what one cannot do is shout abuse at the other in the street.

As I have pointed out previously holding a view is acceptable, shrieking it in the face of a stranger in public is not.
