She chose to become a Royal along with all that which goes with the position, which will entail meeting various dignities that one may not particularly like for one reason or another.

I think that this one time American actress will continue to cause embarrassment, not only to our long standing Royal Family but also to the tolerant British people.

"I would say it's hard work putting a smile on when you're not in the mood."

That is the difference between success and failure....those that can and those that can't ( or wont).
why would the grand-daughter-in-law of the monarch have to meet a visiting leader anyway? It's a state visit, not a family one.
woofy..one of my pet HATES.

Why not just say "good answer or I agree"......suggesting Best answer is not in your province.
Not really,Sqad, most of us don't have cameras following our every move.
WORST ANSWER for Sqad!
Maybe the Queen said no to her attending. Also she is on maternity leave and thus does not have to attend. Harry will also not be at greeting at palace. At least T does not get the carriage procession he wanted, nor stay at the palace
I agree with jno. Why on Earth should the Duchess have to meet Trump anyway, even if she hadn’t recently given birth?
If only she had had a whiter heritage and been less foreign, her *failure* to attend a State Lunch, (one at which her husband's presence has never been mandatory) would, naturally, be less of an issue for the Daily Mail and the rest of the 'grumblies'.
JTH...Exactly......in a nutshell.
sqad you say that like I'd care

he was never going to get that - too big a chance that some public spirited citizen would pull the full Lee Harvey Oswald.....

Have you got a link to that report?

Well it seems that in this case the "Royal Bashers" are not having a bash at this particular 'Royal', I wonder why?

Says a lot for the state that this once peaceful and accommodating nation of ours has turned out to be.
i doubt if her absence will spoil what will probably be a very tedious evening (no i haven't received my invite yet)
The young lady's made a career out of smiling through utter banality, I wouldn't have thought that getting through an hour or so in the company of an oaf would stretch her talents.

AOG, pretty sure the comment referred to at 11:33 was a joke.

You must remember humour.

Putting a smiley at the end of a rather silly post, doesn't necessarily make it humorous.
Not really a question of “snubbing”
She can’t stand the man, doesn’t need to be there, is otherwise engaged.
Would be embarrassing for all concerned.
Everyone’s happy.

Speak for yourself, I think it is an embarrassment to the British public.

Good job she is not British though, at least the Americans can't blame us, for her rude treatment, dished out to their President.
