Car Static Shock

I cant go on kicking the car door shut due to static shock. How can I stop the shocks?

I’m sure I’ve heard that if you attach a piece of metal type webbing to the back bumper of your car, so that it trails harmlessly on the ground, this stops the electric shock.

Worth a try.

Some cars seem to cause this more than others. With a previous car I prevented the shock by touching the window after getting out before touching any metal.
