Piercings and tattoos are horrible. But that's just my personal opinion.

Can they ban 3-inch wide tattooed brows next, please?
its a horrible practice, but i don't see how you can ban it,
Lol.... And red tattooed lip liner !
It's the same here. You can't get pierced under 18 without an adult present.

"The change, under the Public Health (Wales) Act 2017, calls on piercers to ask customers to prove their age and get signed consent for procedures to avoid prosecution and a fine"

A start has to be mad somewhere, so lets hope it works.
hmmm - interesting.

So children in Wales are not allowed control over their own bodies for piercings, tattoos or laying on sun tan beds (i.e they are considered too immature to make those decisions), but they are considered mature enough to vote.

Question Author
DD...yes, thats right !

Do you think young children should have their private parts mutilated ?
Mikey....I don't know why you're so happy about it. This has been the case in England for as long as I remember.
Question Author
Ummm....because its going to happen here as well....isn't that a good thing ?
Piercings and tattoos are horrible. But that's just my personal opinion.
Could children walk in and get a piercing in Wales. I very much doubt it.
Question Author
Yes, its my view as well Boaty....it just looks horrible, and childish. Lets hope this new law will help to stop this
horrible practise amongst the young at least.
I think tattoos and piercings are horrible. Why anybody would want bits of metal poking out of their face is entirely beyond me - they look bloody stupid, so I absolutely am in support of any law that stops children ruining themselves in this way.

But you've entirely missed the point Mikey - on purpose I suspect.

You can't have it both ways.

The point is Wales considers children to be too immature to get a tattoo, but mature enough to be able to vote.

You do see how that doesn't stack up, don't you?
Question Author
DD....No, I can't see that there much of connection between the two at all.

For instance, it will still be the case that people can't drive cars until they are 17, after any law change to voting.

It will be still the case that people can't buy drinks in a Pub until the age of 18, after any change to voting.

No one is suggesting that the age of 16 should be the default age for everything in life.

If you agree that piercings are horrible, and you appear to do exactly that, then you should be welcoming this law change, like everybody else and not carping.
What about earrings?
Yep, point definitely missed.
Question Author
Please yourself DD !
I think it should be illegal for parents to have babies and young children's ears pierced. The child has no say in the matter. A long time ago a girl took her parents to court over it. I don't know what the outcome was.
Question Author
Boaty....why anyone would inflict a piercing on a tiny baby is beyond me !
DeskDiary's first reply was well worth a BA
