another gun club for minorities, whatever will they think of next,
Just another one of the many of gun clubs and associations in the USA. Gun club members tend to more responsible about guns than the ordinary person who just owns guns because 'it is my right'. So in that sense it is welcome.
Do you realise you can buy a gun and a box of ammunition off the supermarket shelf in the USA along with your groceries? All you have to do is show ID at the till. A credit card will do. Buying a gun and ammunition in the USA is as easy as buying bottle of wine in the UK.
No they don't need more.
I would have thought that more people, with more guns, is the last thing America needs right now.
In the UK you must be a member of a registered gun club before you can even apply for a licence to hold a gun. In the USA anyone can buy a gun,you do not need to be a member of a gun club to own one, it is the opposite of the UK.
However as I just said, Gun club members are going to have had some training in safe use of guns so they are actually better than the ordinary person who just wants to have a gun.
Anyone over 16 or 18 can buy as many guns as they want in the USA, as long as they have not got a criminal record , that is why the shop is suppose to check your ID. Private sellers of guns are supposed to check buyers ID but few bother.
Eddie, //In the UK you must be a member of a registered gun club before you can even apply for a licence to hold a gun. //

Absolute rubbish! We have guns but we've never belonged to any sort of gun club.
naomi , shotguns can be owned by people who are not members of a shooting club but have a need to use one. Anything other needs the owner to be a registered member of a licenced shooting club.
You really should take more notice of your own avatar Eddie.
I can't believe Eddie doesn't check his facts. You'd think he'd be fed up of being told he's wrong!!
I'm sorry, we know guns are easily available in USA but surely as Eddie states they are not purchased in a supermarket ?
No Anne, not unless there's someone who's an illicit gun dealer working in the supermarket.

However Eddie at first states you have to be a member of a gun club then later adapts his answer.
Unbelievable :-(
My computer doesn't like Mirror links for some odd reason, does that say they are sold in UK Supermarkets?
Apologies, I thought we were now on the 'In the UK' part of the thread.

Ignore me, perhaps best.
noooo Mamya, Walmart USA.

Eddie, you do talk rot at time. We have 6, maybe 8 handguns in the house, legally, and neither of us are members of a gun club.
