Always emmie.
I put mine in flight mode
Question Author
think will have to do the same, what gets me is that they were informing me i could alter my shopping list up to 11pm, which was well past by the time i got this infernal message.
No, I don't turn it off but it lives in my handbag downstairs so even if it rang (unlikely as very few people have my number)I wouldn't hear it. So no need to turn it off - just leave it out of earshot.
Text message emmie?
No, as I use it for my alarm, especially as I've being known to fall asleep in front of the TV in the living room.
No, because I have a brother in Hospital, and the phone could ring at any time.
If you're getting text alerts, you should be able to set your phone up to silence texts but permit calls.

Personally, I don't turn off my phone because I typically listen to audiobooks when I go to sleep, which I play on my phone.
Mine is my alarm clock, so no - I don't have loud alerts to messages though.
Question Author
will have to look into silencing tx alerts, but this was an
e mail....
Yes
My phone keeps turning itself off anyway, even when the battery's fully-charged and I don't want it to!

A problem with texts though is that they occasionally seem to get 'stuck' in the system. A friend recently sent me a text at about 7pm but I didn't get it until just after midnight. In the past I've received texts up to two days after people have sent them. So Sainsbury's might have actually sent that text far earlier than when you received it. (If you're on their lists for receiving texts, simply texting back 'STOP' will probably get you taken off).

When I used to work night shifts though I tried to remember to turn my mobile phone off before I went to bed. These days I'm also often nocturnal by choice, so the ringer on my home phone is always turned off. (If I'm sitting at my desk, I'll see the light flashing; otherwise the call will go unanswered). My mobile is theoretically left on but, as I wrote above, it will probably have turned itself off anyway!
Never turn it off except in church or in the theatre. I have it on silent for texts. I use it for the time, so I'm always looking at it anyway during the day and see if I have a text message.
Always turn it off last thing at night. Don't even keep it in the bedroom.
No...but I don't take it to bed either.
I do if I can find it - havn't seen it for days and don't miss it.
I switch off the sound and leave it charge downstairs. If I am in an hotel I do switch it off overnight.
Question Author
think i will keep it on charge in the kitchen overnight.
I wouldn't keep it charging over night.

It's on 24/7
