Whereas I obviously don't condone Weinstein's revolting abuse of these women, if he is indeed guilty, but what I must question is the fact that what woman would have such pleasant looking photos taken with their earlier abuser or rapist?

This photo in particular taken in 2004 after he had allegedly raped her in a hotel room back in 1997.

I might live to regret this post...however... Harvey Weinstein, quite a genius at what he does, powerful, rich, not particularly attractive physically but that's not everything, might have been a nice guy to his wife as Ummm says. There's that mystery solved about why she married him. Why has she left him? Well either she believes his accuser all of a sudden...

Yeah Hey indeed. Big rush on now "to give it all away to charity". Haha.

//Weinstein and his family have given more than $1.4 million in political contributions since the 1992 election cycle, nearly all of it to Democratic lawmakers, candidates and their allies, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.//

er, so? You'd criticise them for keeping the money, you're criticising them for gving it away? Right.
Not at all, just a wry chuckle at the boys(and girls) in the bubble. You know the "bubble" that they virtue signal, at every opportunity from, to be a fragrant place. Filled with fairy breath and unicorn sweat. Whilst in reality is filled with the stench of shullbit, the stuff they love to dish up to everyone else. Now they can serve it up to each other instead.
There are some interesting similarities between Trump and Weinstein. For example - both have been major donors to the Democratic Party (Trump also to the Republican party), both have a wife 24 years their junior, and both have something of a reputation with the ladies ...

How can you possibly implicate Trump, a man well known for doing almost certainly the exact same thing as Weinstein and bragging about it into a live mic on tape, or in books he wrote, or in a few TV interviews, in this scandal?

Outrageous.
Should we introduce Bill at this point?
Ahh go on then Talbot. Birds of a feather and al that.

To be fair, if winestain had been a big Republican donator and supported Trump's campaign, it wouldn't get a mention on here, would it?
And the NY Times would have spiked the story about him 15 years ago.
I know every man and his dog and wife has had a snap with Weinstein.

I was more thinking along the lines of

Talbot, I'm shocked. I thought the liberal left wing press had spiked all those stories about Clinton!
Spiked?
I might live to regret this post...however... Harvey Weinstein, quite a genius at what he does, powerful, rich, not particularly attractive physically but that's not everything, might have been a nice guy to his wife as Ummm says. There's that mystery solved about why she married him. Why has she left him? Well either she believes his accuser all of a sudden and genuinely didn't know, or she's worried about her own guilt by association, or she's worried about the future of her clothing brand (Marchesa) which is already now being boycotted ( how's that for the sisterhood eh)? Is he rapist? I have no idea. Is he a sexual abuser? I have no idea. Is he a bit of a pest? Yes, I think that's been clearly demonstrated. Are his accusers telling the truth? I don't know. Whilst loathing to cast aspersions on my fellow actors, it is a fact that a lot of actors will do and say anything to further themselves, including sucking up the rich, famous and those powerful enough in the industry to be able to help them and dramatically over exaggerating their involvement in something which puts them in the limelight. In any event they all kept extremely silent all these years, making no attempt to save their sisters from Harvey Weinstein's clutches by making public what he has allegedly done. Whilst I am not victim blaming, that also makes them pretty reprehensible people, and certainly 'enablers'. Lots has been made of people being demoted to being 'bit part actors' from stars at his hands, but that happens to plenty of people as well who he's never clapped eyes on.It's a common thing, every dog has his day barring a few in this industry. There is now a bit of witch hunt / hysterical frenzy going on of people having a go at other people they claim ought to be appalled by him, and huge gangs forming amongst prominent Hollywooders and dare I say it also some virtue signalling by people for their own ends. For sure if this man is more than a nuisance ( and he shouldn't even be a nuisance tbh) then he needs dealing with, but there are now plenty of accusers so I'd be happier before we all lynch him if some of them went to the police and he was actually charged with something. I am very uneasy about trial by media. The story has broken, now victims are not afraid to come forward they need to go to the police before we get too trigger happy.
Some of his accusers, or at least one of them, went to the police in 2015, but the case apparently was deemed unlikely to lead to a prosecution based on the available evidence.
//Weinstein has been lauded and sucked up to in a staggering 34 different Oscar acceptance speeches. It was former First Lady Michelle Obama herself who hailed this bloated, bullying, sexually perverted film mogul ‘a wonderful human being’ and a ‘good man’.
He is known to have dined at least ten times at the White House during Barack Obama’s tenure — once in the company of our own smoothie schmoozer of the rich and powerful, David Cameron.
In return, Weinstein donated millions to the Democrats — one estimate reckons some $2 million in the past 15 years.
Oh, and the Obamas’ 18-year-old daughter worked for a year as an intern at Weinstein’s company. How very cosy it all was.
So this story isn’t just about one man’s sleazy private life, his horrible attitudes towards women, and his spectacular fall from grace.
It’s about how the entire jet-setting Hollywood Establishment — its holier-than-thou stars, its moneymen, the gushing Liberal political class and media — did nothing to stop the grotesque behaviour of one of its most powerful moguls.
The hypocrisy, the moral depravity, the culture of lies of that Establishment have never been so starkly exposed to the disgusted public gaze as it is today. For Weinstein, it doesn’t mean he is repenting in sackcloth and ashes, of course. It means he is flying off in his private jet to check into ‘rehab’ in Europe.
Because apparently it’s Weinstein himself who is in need of expensive help here — not the young women he has been bullying and abusing for decades.
In the meantime, those who previously danced attendance upon him or were photographed with him, are desperately trying to preserve their own careers, by scrabbling to distance themselves from him like rats in a terrier pit.
One by one they’re lining up to condemn the man they worked with, dined with and lauded to the starry skies at the Oscars.//

//YouTube commentator Paul Joseph Watson has wittily dubbed this ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’: the tendency of Lefty luvvies to be so blinded by their foaming hatred for the current President that they can so no evil anywhere else.//

//Hollywood’s rank hypocrisy over the Weinstein affair is echoed among the luvvies’ good friends on the political Left. Another ardent campaigner for women, Hillary Clinton, remained silent for five whole days after the scandal broke before condemning her generous political funder.
Barack Obama, usually so full of high-flown words, and his wife Michelle, also took days to condemn Weinstein, although Michelle was only too happy recently to aim a sharp speech at Donald Trump about wealthy and powerful men abusing women.
Most egregious of all, perhaps, is that queen bee of Hollywood herself, Meryl Streep. She spent nearly her entire recent Oscar speech attacking the President, and saying she had spent much of her time lately in ‘screaming and lamentation’ — while simultaneously referring adoringly to Harvey Weinstein as ‘God’.
Mamma Mia! How’s that for feminist values?
With breathy and weepy delivery, Meryl declared: ‘When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.’
She also claimed that by attacking Trump like this, she was setting herself up for attack by what she called the ‘brownshirts’ — Hitler’s stormtroopers. Does she mean that anyone who dares to criticise or disagree with Meryl Streep is a Nazi?
But if Streep is so concerned with bullying and women’s rights, where was she all those years when Weinstein was forcing himself on powerless young actresses and goodness knows who? She was as silent as the grave, and insists she knew nothing — although many people certainly appeared to know.//

What can we possible say? Cura te ipsum.

// commentator Paul Joseph Watson has wittily dubbed this ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’://
[ blind - blind to others faults so preoccupied wiv Trumps ]

and hey there is a mirror syndrome I wittily call
‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’:
where mehicanos look at Trump and call for a wall to keep Mehicanos out of the land of the free ( not themselves of course)
and rednecks wiv gunz look at the massacre at LA and say this was not done by a redneck wivva gun so dont lets control them

it is a mad world my masters
I assumed you meant suppressed but not being au fait 'In journalistic parlance' I thought I had better ask.
I happen to think that if you're a big shot in American politics (right or even further right) or Hollywood the likelihood is you have got there through being ruthless. Unfortunately, certain people take this ruthlessness to the extreme. What is also unfortunate is that other people who are more concerned about their own careers than the actions of a scumbag use the 3 monkeys approach.

Just heard poor old Weinstein is considering topping himself ... bless.
