In Western culture these Asian husbands would rightly be convicted of rape.

/// AOG there is no mention of rape in that article ///

Who said there had to be?

You asked me, "apart from you, who are the some of us"?

I merely supplied the evidence that 56% are some of us.
You OP is asking if the rapes are why some people are against multiculturalism,

You are now referring to the OP, please make up your mind.

There isn't need to mention rape in the proof evidence that I supplied to your previous question.
Using the correct term is important in this instance. We need to correctly label these beasts to determine how widespread their culture is.

Asian is clearly wrong there are 4.3 Billion Asians, and hopfully you are not claiming more than half the world is so afflicted.
And Muslim is also wrong. 1.8 Billion muslims in more than 50 countries, or over a quarter of the countries in the world.
It is clear that some muslims have this attitude, but not all of them. Extreme muslims in Pakistan (192 Million) definitely have this view of women. But again I don't think the article is saying all Pakistani men behave this way, or that all Marriages in Pakistan are abusive.

The article is specifically about Pakistani communities in the UK, which number 1.8 million people. That is a big number, and we should be concerned. But we should not exaggerate that figure to 4.3 Billion people if we want an honest debate about it.

Yes but it is not just about their treatment of women or of child abductions and rape, there are other things that can be firmly be placed at the door of their culture not only in this country (which is our main concern, hence this thread) but throughout the world.
AOG, OP=original post which as usual you have strayed from in order to put the blame on all Muslims.
Sp1814. Omit No 4 for white family attributes!
AOG

So you’re referring to Asians in your question. If that’s the case, I refer back to my questions of 13:13...for clarity.
AOG

Do you think that people like you tend to focus on cultural elements that satisfy your confirmation bias?
I oppose it too ....
AOG
The Daily Mail article is about UK Pakistanis culture, not about Asian Culture or Muslim culture.

Pakistanis are here now because 200 years ago the British wanted them so much, that they brought India into the British Empire. After the ravages of World War II, workers were imported from the Empire/Commonwealth to rebuild the country, and their decendents are still here. Depending on your view, that might be a mistake, but it is a bit late to challenge what we did in 1858 or 1958.
Gromit

I have to admit that I'm now as confused as naomi24 thought I was earlier.

AOG - you refer to Asian in your question, but the article is about Pakistani men.

Just to be clear - are you talking about the billions of Asians around the world (as your original post seems to indicate)?

If so, don't you think it's a bit reductive to homogenise such a diverse group of people?
Hiding in hijabs from lust says all about male asian psyche.
Have I missed something? You say these men would rightly be convicted of rose on the west, which surely contradicts the idea - if that is the idea - that different laws apply IN THE SAME COUNTRY to different cultures. But these man WERE convicted and jailed.
I couldn't get by ... Is This Why Some Amongst Us Oppose Multiculturalism?

Is what Why Some Amongst Us Oppose Multiculturalism?

I thought if I wait the waters would become clear ... nope.

I think AOG was picking upon references in the article that these mens' wives were abused by their husbands. And he seems to be stating, without any proof, that the authorities let them go unpunished because they are muslim and to punish them would be seen as racist. Utter nonsense of course. If Asian wives do not report their husbands' abuse to the police, then that is why nothing can be done about it.
I can't say why you oppose multi-culturalism AOG, I can say why I oppose aspects of it, but to oppose it completely would be to hold an ignorant, bigoted and intolerant viewpoint.

It's the easiest thing in the world to take behaviour of a minority of individuals in a culture, and then ascribe that behaviour to be a cultural necessity, and then condemn any members of the culture for practicing said behaviour.

It's easy - but it's wrong.

Where have I "seemed to be stating"???????

But since you have brought the 'thoughts of Gromit' into the argument, you are not wholly wrong.

It was widely reported by the county's media that both the authorities and the police were reluctant to act on these 'Asian' (their chosen description) child grooming gangs, precisely because they feared being classed racist.
