The negative side is that it was unnecessary. I agree it was a perfectly acceptable option for any citizen to exercise (though I agree with earlier sentiments that it was unlikely to be entertained from anybody without the necessary connections). But that is besides the point. The effect of triggering A50 will be the same whether it is done via executive...

i think there's a certain president who's beaten her to the title

The ruling seems to vindicate her so perhaps she is entitled to appear smug (to you)?

As aelmpvw says, I think POTUS currently holds the title and probably will do so for the forseeable future.
must be awful to find someone who knows more about your country's constitution than you do (though that's not hard)
So , we have those who harped on about taking back power from the undemocratic European state and not being subject to it's laws .

Under our constitution any individual can exercise the right to have a decision like this , to exit the EU , and to trigger article 50 , done by our parliament .

Yet when someone exercises that right under our own constitution / law , they are then nastily vilified by those same people .

Talk of double standards

so the democratic will of the majority can be derailed by this attention seeking self publicist harridan and you guys reckon that's ok do you? right oh, speaks volumes.
why are you so terrified that a parliamentary vote will "derail" anything?

It seems I'm a lot more confident that Brexit will go through than all of those people who voted for it and start shrieking like scalded cats at every 10-second delay.
It's been explained to you several times already, TGT.

I'm not quite sure why you insist on continuing to w(h)ine about it. It seems like Sour Grapes to me...
I'm pleased to see you use the phrase 'the democratic will of the majority' rather than 'democratic will of the people'.
The lady in question is not attempting to derail anything .
Question Author
because it's so unnecessary, if they are going to approve it anyway what's the kin point of all this h0rse ***? So Parliament want to talk about it, big effing deal, talk about it! Why all this?
I know......isn't it tiresome when they Laws of the Land get in the way...?
^^ For around the 20th time no one has derailed the democratic will of the people!!!!!!!
All that has been done is to make sure that this decision has to be fully debated by parliment before it is passed! It does NOT stop us leaving the EU that is still on track. It just means it will not be pushed through without any debate on the details.
'So Parliament want to talk about it'

Not quite. It has been ruled that they Must vote on it.

yeah debated and amended and (*&^ed about with until it's not recognisable. That's what the remoaners have been trying to do all the time. After this we'll still be in the E kin U in all but name. *&^%ing terrific.
Is there any chance you could use words rather than symbols in your responses?
After this we'll still be in the E kin U in all but name.

like I said - you're terrified. Man up!
We are a Parliamentary democracy. For anything to happen it needs a majority vote in Parliament. The country has been run like this for centuries.
Question Author
yes I'm terrified jno, I'm terrified what the enemies of democracy are going to do to our country because they know best. Do you know how damaging civil war is? The public will not be cheated out of this.
