Again, no-one comes out of this affair covered in glory - the FBI have both timed and handled this issue badly, and that is not appropriate for an organisation with its remit and power.

However, it does hopefully give the voters who switched because of the potential issue (it doesn’t have to be proven for people to believe it!) time to switch back, and ensure that Mr Trump does not win the election.

I can't remember the details but I don't think the issue involved checking 360,000 emails, but a number of emails involving Clinton which had turned up on this sexting chappie who they were investigating's laptop.

This was a blatant attempt to derail the Clinton campaign, and it will come back to bite the FBI in the ass in the months ahead.
