Phew, looks like we've gotta postpone the apocalypse for the naysayers and doom mongers. They can urinate on their mattresses a little longer yet....

What an odd statement, failing to see the connection with enuresis, but thank you for the BBC link.
could this be because Brexit isn't even close to beginning? They're still having talks about having talks about what to do next.
I'm not sure whether I'm classed as one of your bedwetters but whilst it's good to see that the over-the top-predictions of economic disaster look rather silly at the moment it is perhaps too early to see the full effect if any as Brexit is possibly 4 years away and may result in an business and migration environment that isn't too different. The economic/business evidence is mixed- FTSE up, £ down, unemployment down, interest rates down, some companies showing good results, some showing a turndown (Primark today).
Thread after thread about Brexit all getting a bit boring. Why don't we wait and see instead of all the speculation.

The usual AB sufferer's will be along shortly no doubt.

Not sure it's speculation danny, the ONS tend to deal in results not forecasts/guesstimates.
...because we haven't Brexited yet.
Well, everyone has said it really haven't they - no major effect as nowt's happened.
The thing is, many of these doom prophesies were predicted from the moment we voted to leave.

This simply has not happened, but the sour grapes brigade still dont get it nd attempt to deflect by saying lets wait and see.
Speculation by the ABers not the ONS.
You missed a word out after sufferer's so I still can't work out what you're on about, CD.
The ONC do deal in statistics but so far there is only a few months' data, and as has been said , the picture from all these statistics is mixed (although nothing dramatic either way). danny means that as the process will take a long time- maybe 3-4 years- the movements in the markets and the economy may not become clear until the future shape of things is clearer.
^ONS
Ah the sour grapes brigade. Can't see them on this thread yet though, youngmafbog, so maybe it's just speculation
Read the article for what is written, not what you wish to b written

//There were stark warnings during the referendum campaign of the short-term effects of a vote to leave the European Union.//

This is all about the vote to leave not the actual leaving.

Er......not sure which word or what you're alluding to. I was making a reference to the bedwetters who spat their dummies and live in constant denial of the Brexit and/or hate the fact that a democratic vote didn't go their way.
I am one of the many who voted remain, I accept the way the vote went and wait quietly for the changes.

I haven't started thread after thread about it either.
To be fair it is true that you Mammy, and many others, have accepted the vote.

Unfortunately a very noisy few have not.
Mind you, this thread is really about 'project fear' rather than the outcome.
Bedwetters is a wholly inappropriate expression to use in my opinion, CD, but I can see that if there any bedwetters here you enjoy rubbing their noses in it
Yes, project fear worked both ways I recall. Those who predicted immediate doom were either lying/using deliberately exaggerated scare tactics or in some cases genuinely believed that catastrophe or at least a downturn would occur.
I think after all the result became clear most people welcomed it or accepted it and it soon became clear to business, the markets and voters, that not much would change after all (look how quiet Boris became). The doommongers failed to factor in that this would happen and that things would quickly get back pretty much to normal.
.
One major effect I've noticed is that we've got our country back.
