Smashing news ... I think I will sink another bier in celebration!

Yes...me too !

Maybe we will get that u-turn after all !
Mikey
IDS didn't fall on his sword. He did the honourable deed or don't you think so?
Question Author
Did he jump, just before he was sacked !
Question Author
IDS...the Tory that even Tories don't like !
Could be more to this than IDS is letting on. Convenient smokescreen? Check out Judge Ryan's verdict....
Methinks you speculate too much tonight Mikey.
Question Author
Methinks not Retro !

Nicky Morgan deftly put the cat amongst the pigeons last night.

This Tory Government, not yet a year old, is starting to unravel at the seams, and its all their fault....pride comes before a fall, it is said.

Mikey
I apologise. Having read the points made on a similar thread I withdraw my previous comment.

IDS's resignation letter ::::::

"I am unable to watch passively whilst certain policies are enacted in order to meet the fiscal self-imposed restraints that I believe are more and more perceived as distinctly political rather than in the national economic interest," he said in his resignation letter"

In other words, he didn't agree with with what was said in the budget.
Question Author
Retro....apology accepted unreservedly !

Things are moving fast tonight !

IDS seemed to have resigned with the most honest of intentions, and for that I give him all due credit, but I am glad he has gone nevertheless.
They say that every cloud has a silver lining. er Yippee!
Much is often said about the need for a healthy opposition but there have been numerous cracks since Corbyn took the helm.

The Tories, however, seem to need the WD40 with the Brexit situation and now reaction to the budget...
Question Author
Just in case there is anybody who hasn't quite grasped what has happened tonight, here is another extract from the IDS resignation letter :::

"Mr Duncan Smith said the cuts were "not defensible" within a Budget that "benefits higher earning taxpayers".

In other words Dave and Osborne have dropped an enormous ballock with Wednesday's Budget.

The "Nasty Party" is back, with a vengeance !
Fantastic News
How sweet another voice to join the out campaign. I would gladly sabotage Camerons paper tigers to secure the out vote for Britain. He is now outside the tent piscin in.

Really?
I don't think this is anything to do with IDS having ' the most honest of intentions'
Mikey > IDS seemed to have resigned with the most honest of intentions, and for that I give him all due credit

I'm not so sure, as I've stated, I think there is more to come out regarding issues under his watch.
Question Author
agchristie...with the deftness and expertise that the Tory Party is committing hari-kiri in public, the opposition might as well take an early holiday, as they appear not to be needed !
