I dont care what the reasons are, what was done or not done to them, for the most part these are trash, these scum shouldnt even be allowed to lodge a claim in the first place.

The 27-year-old was awarded more than £800 by the same judge in 2014 after items including his nose hair clippers were damaged in jail.//


He has on hell of a cd collection for it to be over a grand and £800 nose clippers, he was so impressed he bought the company!!!

If all you do is apologise then there is no consequence and no incentive to do the right thing. If you are abused you should have the situation rebalanced. Any non-frivolous accusation needs threating the same regardless of the status of the claimed victim. No one loses so many rights that folk can do whatever they like to them: not in any moral civilised community anyway.

Tell us Geezer, do you think that complaints against the Prison Service have gone up or down in say the last 25yrs. Also do you think that the Prison Service has become more or less accommodating in regards to 'Prisoner' rights?

The first claim on any monies awarded should be the repayment of all legal aid received in respect of the offence(s)that landed them in prison, after all they have no expenses in there, they're fed and watered.

Trash? Scum? Why is it assumed that everyone in prison is some kind of drug dealing, granny bashing serial killer?
Ive been in prison with cons who are serving time for non payment of fines for trivial motoring offences or similar. Ive been in prison with people who are mentally ill or backward. I remember one young lad who was illiterate and backward (I used to read his letters to him and write replies) His 'crime'? He rang the fire service to report a non existant fire because he wanted to see a fire engine. He had the mind of a child. These people arnt scum.
Having said that I fail to see why a judge would award hundreds of pounds to a con because he had shampoo on his cd's.

I do get miffed about people talking about prison and prisoners when their only info is from a biased media. Trust me, prison is no walk in the park despite what you read in the papers.

I know of one prisoner who broke his ankle jumping off the prison wall while trying to escape. He got £17,000. The Prison Authority were at fault,,,,,for letting him climb the wall.

I know of one prisoner who tried to hang himself. The screws gave him a kicking because he would have given the prison a bad name if he succeeded. But you never hear about cases like this.

Now can someone explain that to me. baz made a perfectly reasoned reply to a different ABer who responded in a much more reassured and measured fashion. We can see who likes to accuse, usually with the 'crimes' they themselves are committing.
