Blimey - I didn't think anyone could (or would) use this thread to have a go at Harry! He is a Prince. I am a partial royalist, and a pragmatist. The core members of the royal family have jobs. All? I have posted two until now, and they are not sour posts only a different opinion.
Yes he ticks all the boxes with our female ABers, typical of the general celebrity image trend, a certain good looks along with a cavalier lifestyle and all tied together with the mass admiration of his late mother.

I think you are being somewhat over-generous there AOG.
His 'crime' if you wish to put it like that, was not just marrying a woman he didn't love, it was keeping a lover throughout his courtship, and throughout his marriage, and making no secret of that fact.
A little more than simply marrying without love - which it appears was down to his father's influence on his sense of 'duty' to the line.

This lad is in the position he is due to no fault of his own. He is the grandson of our serving monarch and the son of the future one. As I and others have pointed out, we are far from being monarchists but Harry should be accorded some thanks and admiration for what he did at the Mildmay yesterday, and that is all I was trying to say this morning.
He is a credit to his Mum and she would be very proud of him if she was still around today.

It can be difficult to quantify the positive impact that a 'genuine' visit from a high-profile person can bring.
It is so much more than pressing the flesh, cutting ribbons and a few photo-opportunities.
You are correct that Corbyn could have done it......but it certainly wouldn't have been received with half as much warmth and pride as when Harry does.

He won't be the first one and he won't be the last. the monarchy have had mistresses throughout history, not to mention the ordinary people who now seem pass masters at the game.

My partner met him and Chelsea a few years ago after a show on telly they both went to see - and apparently, Harry is shockingly 'normal'...the kind of royal you could actually imagine having a drink with.
