The news is on several sites and just gives name, age and no fixed abode. My bet is that AOG is just going off the name, and North Africa is a guess that suits his current mood.

Let me explain, I believe I posted on these cases last week when they were looking for the sexual assaulter, and at that time his victims described him as being of Mediterranean appearance, and the papers published CCTV images of the suspect.

Since then they have found him and charged him, that is why they have now blotted the images out, and also his description so as not to affect his trial I would imagine.

But if he found to come from 'Timbuktu' (actually West Africa) or any other place on this earth, I make no apology, since I have never said he has come from North Africa, only that it 'LOOKS LIKE'.

Mediterranean appeareance can be European, Asian, Arab as well as African.

So you have rather shoehorned this news about a sex attacker being caught into a thread about refugees when you really have no idea where he is from, or how long he has been in the country.
