AG...it seems a history lesson is needed here ::

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Lords_Act_1999

In 1999, the Labour Government, newly voted in with a landslide victory in
1997, brought about much needed reform in the HOL. The Act above removed the right of inherited seats, apart from a rump of 95.

The previous period in Government by the Tories showed no willingness whatsoever to introduce similar reforms.

I wonder why !

/// It is Mr Corbyn's job as head of HM's Opposition to expose the government's smoke and mirrors, and on this, he seems to be doing his job very well. ///

He will have to wait almost 5 years before he might be in a position to 'put things right', but then again I think that Labour have had their day, especially with him as the leader.
so it's PM Jezza in 2020 then lads is it? right oh!

Thanks TTT...what a nice thing to say !

By the way, I am always cheerful !
AOG - //He will have to wait almost 5 years before he might be in a position to 'put things right', but then again I think that Labour have had their day, especially with him as the leader. //

I don't think anyone - including Mr Corbyn - seriously believes he will still be leading his party when election time rolls around - but that does not detract from his ability, and his willingness to perform the role of Opposition Leader while he still holds the post.
Mikey, off topic at 16:24. I know how much you dislike people going off topic, so just saying. ;o)

Corbyn will be out on his ear long before the next Election if Labour have any sense but there again that is something they seem to lack as they elected him in the first place.
Was he really the best they could do?
I think the trouble with Corbyn, it seems he can tell the truth.

TWR, trouble is he and a lot of Labourites are firmly entrenched in the 70's
It sounded a pretty annoying question to me -- one that is typical of politics, where the only correct answer is also political dynamite. Of course Cameron can't make a guarantee that literally nobody will be worse off as the result of a particular policy that will take some time to implement and anyway needs some redesigning in the light of a Lords vote not even two full days ago.

Maybe, but we are now in the year 2015, things do change, but lies never do.
TWR, Corbyn will lead the Labour Party backwards. He reminds me of an old hippie who's never moved on into the real world.

///but we are now in the year 2015///

Ok, you are aware of that but not many Labourites seem to be.
Give the bloke a chance Naomi, after all we all know the way the Tory's are going, does Thatcher come to mind? yes, things have to change I do agree but not at the expense of people that has not got a lot, why don't they start by cutting the expenses of the MPs? that would be an incentive for us "All to be in it together, or does that not apply to the folk outside the H.P
Corbyn's only intention is to disrupt the democratic process. He's a Marxist and should be living somewhere more suited to his ideology.
TWR, //Give the bloke a chance Naomi//

Not on your Nelly! Many in his own party don't want to give him a chance, so why expect me to? They know he's bad news.
Each to their own.

///They know he's bad news///

Good News from my viewpoint Naomi.
