It's the Tom and Jerry show!

I only hope I am wrong, Zacs. But they should not break out the bubbly too readily at Tory HQ. The Conservative victory in May was by no means overwhelming. Assuming that the SNP retains its share north of the border and that the LibDems remain in the wilderness it must fall on the 4m who voted UKIP to decide the fate of the nation. It is by no means certain that they are all disaffected Tory voters.

Lots of "ifs and buts" I know, but I don't think all is quite as straightforward itmany people think.
I know, Jim - but it's appropriate. :o)
Naomi was referring, cleverly, to looney tunes.
Congratulations mikey, you have a proper Labour man now, I think he will make a marvelous leader for you and us.
Very possibly, sadly :(

But then people had been writing off Jeremy Corbyn as a no-hoper before this election so he may yet spring a surprise on the country too. I doubt it.
Apart from the teachers thing, obviously, I agree with NJ's analysis here. The Tories need not be afraid, yet, as Corbyn still has to prove that he can hold the party together. But if he can manage that, then he's just shown that he has the ability to energise a huge and overwhelming number of people. If the Tories don't recognise this and prepare accordingly, then they will have a huge shock on their hands.

I hope your right too NJ but admittedly, we do live in strange times, and as the demographic of our country changes, never say never eh?
Looking at New Zealand brochures as we speak.
We still haven't managed to sell OH's house in France, maybe we'll take it off the market!
Good result
An excellent result.
Good result or just the best you could hope for?
A good result. Providing the Tories keep listening to Middle England and nt right-on brigade and bleeding heart luvvies they can do very well out of this.

If however they sit on their laurels we will have a left wing Government in a few years, in which case will the last person out please turn out the light.
in which case will the last person out please turn out the light.

Won't there be more people than ever to control the lights?
Talbot. Great answer. The leader of the lightswitch Union may have a dilemma on his hands tho.
Only in the Mosques.

And no doubt they will leg it too, as we have seen they dont want to stop in a third world country!
Friday: Parliament votes against assisted suicide. Saturday: Labour votes for Jeremy Corbyn as leader.
^lol.
Very astute AOG. Lots of irony there.
/// in which case will the last person out please turn out the light. ///

There perhaps will be no electricity to light them, remember 'The Winter of Discontent'?
“…in which case will the last person out please turn out the light.”

“Won't there be more people than ever to control the lights?”

Unless the current shower stops its obsession with windfarms and solar energy there will not be any lights left on to worry about. They need to stop criminalising power companies for burning coal and set about building some nuclear power stations pronto. Carting shiploads of wood pellets across the Atlantic to burn in Yorkshire is not a viable strategy for securing the UK’s energy supplies. But I forgot, wood pellets are “renewable”. Of course they are. How silly of me.
