I put this in Christmas because it's a possible present for Mrs V, who saw one on QVC - ugh!

It has a 2 horsepower motor and sounds like a concrete mixer, and will grind almost anything to a smooth paste. They say it will do this to a chicken carcass (why?) And it costs about £400, yes £400

We have a Kenwood Titanium with all the usual gadgets (excellent sausage micer / filler) The jug blender is pretty good. I use a Wahl / James Martin spice grinder £20 on Amazon, which grinds to a very fine powder

It's apparent that I'm not convinced we'll use it.

Can anyone tell me why we need it, or suggest something even more useful, please?

it will go back to the shelf like most of gadgets.
I've just seen the prices on Amazon (which are typically around £450). That's about a hundred quid more than I paid for my car!!!

The reviews are generally very positive but there are still a few dissenting voices:

anyone else?
I got one from QVC when it was on offer. I sent it back which is the neat thing about QVC. It was horribly noisy and HUGE. I really cannot explain how noisy it was, yes like a cement mixer. One thing I do love which is less money but still an outrageous price is my Bamix. The thing I do lust after is a Kitchen Aid mixer, a duck egg blue one but I don't have the room for it in my kitchen or my bank balance.

Thanks Woofgang - I think I'll look for a better present.

I bought her a footspa once and she threw it at me - OK for grannioes.

If she threw a Vitamix, that could hurt!
She's need to be a weightlifter to pick it up!
