Correct.
Dreadful.
I used to carry a small penknife to school in the 50's and 60's....lots of boys did, but how different it is today.
Terrible. Lucky we don't have easy access to guns!
No chance of that Ummmm...our American cousins have shown us the folly of that !

Relieved that some others have pointed out that he was Asian, I couldn't possibly comment.

No I will alter that 'I am not allowed to comment'.
At least this poor teacher hasn't died, thank goodness.
He is in hospital and his condition is described as stable
We banned plastic pencil sharpeners because some of the little dears smashed them and used the tiny blade for others purposes. Had that been done today, the sad faced parents and sprogs would have been on the DM site complaining!
I don't recall anyone bringing a knife to school in the seventies. i wonder what's gone wrong.
Teacher stabbed to death in Leeds last year too

Pattern emerging here
I was a supply teacher (as was the victim) in difficult schools in Bradford and Halifax. I worked for many years at this very difficult job and was one of the only 2 Supply teachers (in the UK) awarded the Threshold qualification when it was introduced. That's an intro.!

I have also faced pupils threatening physical violence, including one girl (I think she had been sniffing glue) who stood in front of me, weaving, with a pair of opened scissors. Teaching is not the peaceful job many still think it is. I am so sorry for this poor guy. You are damned if you take the phone off them and damned if you don't and they disrupt.

Unpalatable as it may be to some, this teacher was black - and Asians generally hate blacks. I'll happily explain how our school lost all its good black athletes when the Asians invaded the areas they had called home.

Before anyone starts to shout 'Racist' at me - - I'm telling the truth as it has unfolded before me. I really hope that the teacher is OK.
Further to jourdain2's comment, I did a teaching practice in Bradford in the 70s. During a discussion about racial tension I was told by the Head that there was trouble between Indian pupils from different parts of India. They however got together to fight the Pakistani pupils and that generally the white pupils kept out of their way, but the West Indian pupils would fight anybody. Not meant to offend anyone, it certainly reflected the school as I saw it.
