//I have explained many times why I believe the belief that this is 'my country' to say who will and who will not live here is arrogant and futile - I am yet to be convinced by any argument or opinion to the contrary.// andy-hughes just a question when does it stop though at the country or do your beliefs continue to your own house? Do you lock your doors when you go out...

/Remember 'bird flu' - and how we were all going to wiped out by a pandemic which mysteriously failed to materialise ... //

I would say busses blown up and a soldier hacked to death ion the streets is what you call materialisation. Plus look at the countries of conflict. suicide bombings/ decapitations daily. That is what we should expect if we live among these lawless fanatics. It isn't fear mongering. I dont want to be living near anyone who has fought for a make belief friend. they are mentally sick and need treatment. Not a slap on the wrist and welcomed back into society.

That's your opinion, not necessarily correct and not necessarily held by others. //

Everything I post is my opinion, unless I know it to be a fact, in which case my post will identify as such.

I have explained many times why I believe the belief that this is 'my country' to say who will and who will not live here is arrogant and futile - I am yet to be convinced by any argument or opinion to the contrary.

Andy-Hughes, //I am yet to be convinced by any argument or opinion to the contrary. //

That says more about you than the people you are arguing with. To compare concerns for the very real threat to the security of this country to fears over bird flu really has to be the most ridiculous analogy you've come up with - and that's saying something!

By using the word 'my' I am not claiming it as mine just acknowledging it as the Country of my Birth and one I am proud to be part of.
It's a shame your lack of respect/pride does not allow you to see that!

B00, Thank you for your input.

I did not make a comparison between the two.

I used them both as illustrations of my point that the UK media is following the US model - it is whipping up fear and hysteria by prophesying doom and gloom which does not come to pass.

Nowhere does my post infer that 'bird flu' and national security are comparable - or compared.

That says more about your ability to understand what you are reading.

just a question when does it stop though at the country or do your beliefs continue to your own house? Do you lock your doors when you go out do you try protect your family at night?
If you do any of the above then claiming group rights to a country from people whose parents grew up paying taxes, fighting and even dying is actually justified. Its a bought as justified as you saying you claim rights to your house because you have paid money which is determined by the country which you live?

I believe the world is for everyone but you cant just let anyone in its dangerous.
andy-hughes, //Nowhere does my post infer that 'bird flu' and national security are comparable - or compared.//

The very fact that you claim the UK media is //whipping up fear and hysteria by prophesying doom and gloom// as it did over bird flu confirms that you see this as no more of a threat than that was - so yes, you are comparing the two.
andy, I regard it as 'my country' and nothing you can say can persuade me otherwise !!

I don't care if they are 16 or if they are 'only' silly, I do not want them back in my country. I agree wholeheartedly with AOG.
I don't think the media went over the top with the AIDS warning. 78 million infected and 39m dead.

Can we please start showing some compassion and humanity to these unfortunate girls - or are we all so brainwashed by the Sun and Mail that we are not capable of these emotions any more!!
"Can we please start showing some compassion and humanity to these unfortunate girls "

Sure, as long as they stay where they are, and far away from the country and its ideals they seemed to hate so much.

///Can we please start showing some compassion and humanity to these unfortunate girls///

You mean in the same way that the organisation they ran off to join,
(which is obviously preferable to them to their life in the UK)
show compassion and humanity to their victims?
they made their bed...

And all he got was a very overused pair of rose tinted specs.

How very unfair.

Yes, these schoolgirls made a stupid mistake on misinformation given to them by among others, the Scottish girl already out there, who may have been herself forced to send out such encouraging messages under duress.
If these girls are captured by ISIS do you not realize what fate awaits them? Under Sharia law they would be stoned to death for deserting their 'husbands'! You really don't want that, do you?

They are Muslims, if they 'misbehave' in a Country where Shiria Law is practised they surely knew the risks and the choice was theirs to make!
