It is illegal to refuse entry to public places if you are black or homosexual etc, but it seems it is quite in order to refuse entry to single adults.

Where is the danger, surely the children in this park are with adults to look after them so how could they be at risks from paedophiles?

"Ask the McCannes..." Without getting too bogged down, sqad, the comparison hardly bears examination. The McCannes left their daughter alone in a holiday apartment to go out to dinner and whilst that does not justify her being taken it is not quite the same as walking your child around a theme park. "...why would you as a 'single adult' want to go to any of these...

u are aware that Puxton Park does not run the country Aog?
you sure your'e not trying to gain entry to couples only swingers club? might be an issue there
Bizarre.

I saw that story.
He ought to sue for discrimination.
How bizarre.
\\\\\Where is the danger, surely the children in this park are with adults to look after them so how could they be at risks from paedophiles? \\\\

Ask the McCannes or watch the serial on TV, "the Missing".....both indicate how children can be abducted even with their parents in close proximity.

If all parks have this rule......then so be it.....it is the sign of the times AOG.
I also thought this was rather bizarre.
An example of a well-meaning, but probably ridiculous restriction
Ah, there is a bit of back story which the Daily Mail report omitted...

// The resort's former mayor Philip Judd was jailed in September for possessing indecent images of children.

"Mr Judd had visited Puxton Park to undertake a civic duty and his sinister secrets were only recently exposed and he was jailed for his crimes.

"It is for this reason we felt it necessary to introduce strict entry rules to ensure we are looking after the welfare of our young visitors at all times."

"We would rather be over zealous when unaccompanied adults visit us armed with cameras than put children at any potential risk." //
Still should sue; this is one more example of the 'minority' logic rather than common sense that is governing this country. This needs nipping in the bud, as its ludicrous. Next thing will be a CB check before entering any resort....
That doesn't explain it, Gromit. The Park has had this policy since it opened 7 years ago
/but it seems it is quite in order to refuse entry to single adults./

try to book yourself into your local 'Playgroup' aog

or try to use the Kiddy Swings in your local park

you may find yourself refused entry there too

The point is, why would you as a 'single adult' want to go to any of these places?

Please explain.
""We would rather be over zealous when unaccompanied adults visit us armed with cameras than put children at any potential risk." //

Which, being interpreted means: "we are going to adopt the lazy approach, rather than doing what we should be doing which is remaining - or becoming more - vigilant". After all, who's to say there isn't a father of three there with his children sneakily taking pics he shouldn't?
They did say that all parks do the same, though. If that is true then they must have been the last to join in as a result of this incident
No grounds to sue, DT. The rule applies to both men and women, of all races and religions, regardless of whether they are disabled or not.
Zeuhl, a pensioner friend of mine in his 70s spends his time going to theme parks around the world to ride the roller coasters. He is a roller coaster junkie.

The man in the article wanted to watch the falconry, something that is of interest to many adults.
Puxton Park's statement:

"The main aspect not being reported is that Puxton Park is predominantly an attraction for children aged 0 years to 7 years with 90% of the park dedicated fully to child’s play, which is not suitable for lone adults.

“Some adults may be interested in our falconry department and we offer falconry experience days which are open to all. We have not set out to discriminate against single adults but we take child protection extremely seriously."

Seems fair enough

As usual the Daily Wail 'outrage filter' didn't include all the facts.
I'm sure that single blacks and single gays are prohibited too AOG.

Still it is a strange policy for a theme park.
A "kiddie park" is hardly comparable to a falconry display.

Inappropriate discrimination should not be simply on the grounds of gender, race, or religion. If the law restricts it to these alone then it is in error and should be changed.
Puxton Park is predominantly an attraction for children aged 0 years to 7 years with 90% of the park dedicated fully to child’s play,

Ah, that changes things.
I'm unsure the confession that they don't discriminate on all days so that's ok then, really cuts a lot of ice.
AOG

It's also illegal to refuse entry into public places if you are white.

I assume you already knew that?

Children can be at risk from abduction even when there is adult supervision. And remember - this is an 'unsupervised' adult. He is banned in the same way that unsupervised children are now allowed in some lidos.
