Has anyone else noticed the use of "LOL" more than once by internet posters online?

Recently I've noticed internet users saying "LOL LOL" instead of the normal "LOL"

The meaning is "Laugh/Laughing out loud" which can be used once to show that you're laughing and if you laugh more than once you don't have to put "LOL LOL" and just the "LOL" will suffice and show the rest of us that you're tickled pink.

Has anyone else noticed this "Misuse" of this or any other internet abbreviations?

Pour one for me while you are at it! LOL ;-)
Lots of abbreviations are misused by those not realising what the letters stand for. How often has one heard the expression "PIN number" ? Or maybe a personal identification PIN number maybe ?

Sqad you might be the one person that is allowed to "Misuse" it as it's very refreshing to see a happy doctor when my experience has shown that 95% of doctors definitely do not "LOL" at any time I am there.
Recently I have noticed people using "@" and then the person's name when they are responding to a post. For example they will use "@ stuey" instead of just "stuey" if responding to this post of mine. Why?

I like to put lots of LOLS in jokes to wind tonyav up and say I think it's funnier than he does!
Question Author
Stuey on other sites using the "@" symbol tags the user and shows the user in their profile that someone has tagged their name so they can come online, click and see where they were mentioned. It's a really cool feature.
Henrietta....that is very kind my dear (sqad bowing)
