You Gov Poll On Plastic Bag Charge

As you can see, most people Polled agreed with the 5p charge...roughly 2 to 1 in favour. But can anyone explain why UKIP supporters gave such a different result ? 49% agree and 44% oppose ?
Why should UKIP supporters be so much at odds to all other parties ?
The answer doesn't appear to be explained by gender, age, or social grade.
Curiouser and curiouser !

For the record, 49% to 44 % may be nearly fifty-fifty, but all the other Political Party demographics show differently.
All I wanted to know is what factor about being a UKIP supporter would make such a difference on such a simple, basic subject. Plastic bag regulation has been passed by Wales and Scotland and the sky has not fallen in, nor has civilization ended. Not sure why it should be different in England.
There are plenty of active contributors to the News section on AB that have owned up to voting UKIP, which is their right of course...all I want to know is the opinions of why the plastic bag issue should be so startling different to other parties.

Not a problem in any way bernie, although in my opinion a vote for UKIP will be a wasted vote, as they can not and will not win the 2015 Election !
But people are entitled to waste their vote if that is what they wish. Part of the burden of democracy.
I just want someone, especially the aforementioned UKIP supporters to hazard a guess why they are more likely to oppose a 5p charge on plastic bags !

All the evidence is that they may help Labour get in, although I would have to admit it is not entirely clear-cut.
But if you admit that your vote will not result in the party of your choice winning the 2015 election, why vote for a party that can't win ? Or are you voting tactically...ie, is it your wish to prevent a certain party from winning ?

Daisy...in what ways are Polls rubbish ? Polls these days are largely accurate, as the next link will prove :::

Bernie...so why are you considering voting for a party which neither of us expect to win ? Who knows or even cares about the party that comes second ? Who remembers the person that won a Silver Medal at the Olympics ? Coming first gives a party seats in the House of Commons...coming second gives what ?
The Green party will be happy at least. I fail to see why UKip in particular should get a mention in this thread. Wales has been charging 5p for plastic bags for a while. I pay 5p in M&S for my plastic bags which are then recycled with my paper every week. Just another coin in the coffers. Does anyone know where the money will be spent and how is it collected?
Mikey 34/47 with 19 don't knows (18-24 yr olds) and 40/49 with 11 don't knows (Londoners) seem like fairly even and meaningless splits to me. You could also ask why twice as many Cons are in favour. None of that table, with its small samples, mean anything, I don't even the think the figures warrant any analysis.
