Actually, this is the 2nd arrest and charge.
one wonders why its taken so long, i hope those who are found guilty go to prison, i don;t care how old they are, vile people who abuse children
According to the report, they've arrested 20 people since it began in November 2012. It wasn't reported 30 years ago.

The North Wales child abuse scandal was the subject of a three-year, £13 million investigation into the physical and sexual abuse of children in care homes in the counties of Clwyd and Gwynedd, in North Wales, including the Bryn Estyn children's home at Wrexham, between 1974 and 1990.[1] The report into the scandal, headed by retired High Court judge Sir Ronald Waterhouse QC, which was published in 2000, resulted in changes in policy in England and Wales into how authorities deal with children in care, and to the settling of 140 compensation claims on behalf of victims of child abuse.
perhaps like many of these types of cases the children weren't taken seriously, if they had made the allegations, told someone in authority. Notoriously difficult to prove if its their word against a member of staff.
Ah. My apologies. I thought this was from new allegations, not that they'd taken 30 years to get this far.
i reckon that the children may have made allegations, but who often believes children, i would, but i confess that even parents have been known to dismiss tall tales, if you know what i mean. Childrens care Homes have had a bad reputation for a long time. Put lonely little children, no relatives to speak of into a home, and wait for the vultures, savile got away with it, and i suspect so did any number of other high profile people, a murky world, just like the sex grooming of young girls by Asian gangs, no one thinks it goes on, but we do now.
I know what I'd like to do with the lot of them ---unprintable.
it isn't unprintable, i would hang the feckin lot. i hate anything to do with child abuse, be it parent, stranger, friend, it makes me so angry
Yes - just not believed and not enough people/relatives who actually care to listen. I really hope things have changed more now.
i wouldn't put money on that one.
Not necessarily -although i imagine an improvement. Just the paperwork alone- everything has to be recorded/double-checked. I think we are more aware now. You hear phrases like "it wouldn't happen in my day" bandied around. We are more aware i think, now.
if we were more aware, or if the various agences were more aware, we wouldn't keep on having cases like Baby P, Victoria Climbe, and endless children killed, tortured, abused by vile parents, or their partners, i know those cases depict children who were not in care, but honestly, i am not convinced that we have marched along a great way in the care of children in homes as shown
Yes, there are some shocking incidents. One is too many.
it is, on that i completely concur.
One of many scandals that have gone on for far too long.
and undoubtedly will continue, just in a different scenario. At least if some are brought to book, even years later, then perhaps others will see that the law will catch up with them,
