that Wayne Rooney is assured of being paid £300,000 per week for the next 5 1/2 years. Nice to see that we haven't lost our sense of humour.

Kloofnek

\\\\\Ridiculous,all he does is run round a field kicking a ball...anybody can do that!!\\\

True. So, just turn up at the ManUtd training ground, show them what you can do and........£300,000 a week is yours.
overated! overpaid! ott! and i wouldn't mind being a £1 behind sqad either
It's not that much. By the time the tax man takes his cut Wayne won't even have 200k a week to live on. Are there any food banks in Manchester?
Squad...can you?..No,I can`t but let`s be honest..it is only a game of football.
bernie......;-)
Sorry,got your name wrong
its obscene.
sorry sir, tips my hat!
kloofnek....you are right......I can't......perhaps Man Utd think that he will bring in more than £300.000/ week.

If i COULD kloofy.....i would....believe me.
think how many nurses that would employ per year.
And so would I,so would I..even it means having a sex change first!!!!
emmie...Man Utd is the private sector, nothing to do with the public sector (nurses).
Man utd doesn't need to employ nurses, doesn't need them, but does need to employ footballers.....and there is a going rate.
it sucks, to use a coarse phrase. they may be a private concern, but its the fans who have to fess up the money, how much are tickets to go to a game these days, away matches, replica kit, season tickets. no one is worth that much money, no one.
Nurses aren't badly paid
but they don't earn that in 10 years i expect, let alone, a week

All this aside, it annoys me when they say the average wage is £26,500 per annum - not to a lot of people it isn't, the hardest workers as well !
It's not my money! If the fans dont like it they know what to do . But they wont ,they will continue to pay, for over paid players. So be it , it's their money .
The way I see the situation is that the sponsors, football clubs, TV companies and a lot of other interests are making money out of these footballers so why shouldn`t they get a share of the goods as well? Maybe their salary is ridiculous but it is proportionate to what everyone else is making out of their skills. If the players didn`t get a lot of money, then they would be cash cows.
He could survive without his wages, he probably earns twice that amount through sponsorship deals
