FA accused over all-white commission......

By its only female, mixed race member of the panel:

http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/24592596

From the link:

It is understood the FA has spoken to members of black and minority ethnic communities about joining the commission, but many of those approached have not been able to commit the required time.

So what else are the FA supposed to do? Appoint a person of colour who is even less apathetic and committed than those already approached?
This storm in a teacup is doubtless brought about by the same idiots who made a 'story' out of Hodgson's half time joke.

Pathetic.

An all-White, almost all-Male panel is I think going to raise some eyebrows, at least. But if the FA approached others and tried to get a diverse-looking panel then it's not clear what the problem is. My own view is that equality means equality of opportunity, so your race, age, gender, creed, sexuality, etc., don't act as barriers to your career opportunities. But equally the employers should select the best people for the job -- and if that leads to an all-White panel, or an all-male one, or even an all-female panel, would in an ideal world be thought nothing of: "those were just the best people for the job at the time".
The commission are:

Greg Dyke
Roger Burden
Glenn Hoddle
Danny Mills
Howard Wilkinson
Ritchie Humphreys
Greg Clarke
Dario Gradi.

Apart from Dario Gradi the whole commission is staked with hopeless mediore money grabbing journey men of dubious or no talent. We won't bring on young players with that lacklustre bunch of failures.

But I do not believe in co-opting a female onto the commission just to tick some equality box. The best people are needed and while we don't appear to have that at present, I am sure they were not selected for their skin colour.

"money grabbing journey men of dubious or no talent"

you think Glenn Hoddle had dubious or no talent !?

he may be money grabbing, but I'd call it earning a living and i'm sure you wouldnt turn the wonga down if offered it for what he does

I may be wrong but I'm led to believe that the panel is made up of volunteers who will not be paid for their time.

Is this the actual sticking point I wonder? Sol Campbell has been loud in his condemnation of the panel.
Would he care to address the 'problem' by giving his services for free?

I won't hold my breath.......

Danny Mills puts his/the panels case rather well here I thought: (halfway down the page)

As 'Ole Jug Ears has had his two pennorth worth as well, is it down to money?
Sol Campbell

another one jumping on the racist bandwagon...Pffffttt

Dare one ask why there isn't a prominent member(no pun intended) from the LGBT fraternity on there, as football is so diverse?
Oh yeah, that's right, they'd be hounded out by knuckle draggers!
// you think Glenn Hoddle had dubious or no talent !? //

Did you ever see him on Top of the Pops? :-)
Is she mixed race? She doesn't look it in either skin tone or features.

Just quoting from the BBC link daffy:

Jamaican-born Rabbatts, 57, wrote to Dyke and fellow board members to criticise the commission.

"I've come to the conclusion the FA's current position is not sustainable," said Rabbatts, who is of mixed race.
Thanks for the clarification, I got bored part way through the article and skim read the rest.
tonyav

yup..shes as fugly as dianne abbatoir...not much in it really...and they both seem to have a problem with white people
Many were not able to commit the required time? So some of them were? So why weren't they chosen?

But the real answer is as jim said. The best people for the job must be chosen. If it turns out that they are all white men, so be it.

Greg Dyke?
Ideal candidate.....gay black one legged Muslim single parent female with learning disabilities on benefits !!!
Quite, murraymints, and some might think that her decisions would be no worse than those of the present incumbents !
"If it turns out that they are all white men, so be it." yeah in a predominantly white(for the time being anyway) country

good luck with that
